Went to rainier deli in five dock on my way back to Canberra today, saw a few reviews in the papers about the hour long lines for their sandwiches. Anyway popped in, and waited about 25min before we were greeted by the owners behind the deli, told them to do two of their own creations, huge slabs of foccacia topped with heaps of prosciutto, then stracciattela cheese, tomatoes, artichokes and whatever else you want them to keep adding. These things are really big, we split one, and have the other one in the fridge for lunch tomorrow.
the guys behind the counter are great value too, $15 per sandwich and loaded with as much meat and toppings as you want, can’t go wrong if you don’t mind a bit of a wait.
