Yes I am happy with the election results. Shocked that Labor ended up with such a large majority while some of the smaller parties lost their seats though. The Libs need to revert back to their original ethos. Stop with the culture war focus and trying to be a mini USA. Be the party for free enterprise, small business, minimalist government etc. In other news my electorate is still on a knife edge. A good chance the independent will take the seat from Labor.
Yours can be a quite naive opinion at times. You appear to see no evil, just honest people trying to do their best for the country. To be fair, that is way most people erroneously see things as well but annoys those who see the realpolitik.

So the ALP is not a supporter of free enterprise? The Libs are not just "supporters", the party is financed by capital and business. Its sole purpose is to keep progressives out of power lest Free Enterprises' rorts and privileges of more than a century should be interfered with. For example it took Whitlam's Trade Practices Act to, finally, provide us with consumer protection.

Salvo thinks I’m a Putin lover because I spelt a chicken dish the wrong way.
Bates thinks I’m Pauline Hanson’s number one fan.
And you think I’m a traitor to the average worker.
It’s all too much!

i didn't express an opinion on dutton's performance as a cop, nor in fact on bill hayden's. i did say that, unlike dutton, hayden would have made a good pm.

You can completely discount any opinion of those befuddled others. Mine is the only one that counts. And I send my very best wishes for a Happy Mothers' Day today. From what I know you have done an excellent job raising your young men and your little political foibles should not detract from that.
My initial comment about the Liberal Party was actually a critique of where the party has been heading the past 15-20 years and the fact the Australian electorate seems to have completely rejected that philosophy in the recent election. We are not America and if the Libs want to improve their chances going forward they maybe need to go back to their original ethos and stop trying to be America and fighting so called culture wars. But trust you to twist what I was saying.
Further to that, they also need to adapt to the modern world and appeal more to women and the younger generations if they want to remain relevant.Last edited by mightyrooster; Yesterday, 05:37 PM.
