Dave Taylor was never a wide running forward at the Broncos, he was a prop forward who had dreams of being a second rower. Wayne Bennett told him straight that he needed to focus on being a prop and that he was too lazy so instead he took the dollars at Souths and floated between mediocrity and moments of briliance for 3 years before signing with the Titans in his mid 20s.

So yes they are both named David and both played for the Broncos and Titans. Hardly compelling evidence that theres a lesson there to be learnt from the failings of David Taylor.
Under the right coach and right set-up David Fifita would fulfil his undeniable potential and prolong his career IMO.

$$ isn't everything when your starting out.
    The rewards usually follow later.

I would roll out the red carpet for him if he wised up and crossed the border even if it meant losing a few players due to his asking price. He's young, aggressive and could be at his next club for at least the next 8 years plus!

I don't think the Roosters need to do much for 2023 apart from re-sign the key players coming off contract. The first grade side 1-17 is a premiership winning side.

He is a solid player and would work very well with our style.

As Thirteen stated above, we are one forward short for the long term. JWH is on the home run stretch and unless we're going to promote a young pig early, we need to get someone into the club soon.
Completely agree with you about Leniu. The guy powers off the back fence. I wrote about him on the forum a few months ago.

Give it a rest, it's not happening.

Leniu is a loose cannon.... we don't need another one of those. Moses Leota is who we want.

Apparently the 5 Sydney Clubs chasing Dominic Young are Sea Eagles/Bulldogs/Rabbitohs/Dragons and Roosters - Knights have not as yet tabled an extension offer so it looks like he will test the market come November 1 - May well be more Clubs joining this list as well one assumes- Both Australian and UK

With Robbo and Uncle Nick over in England for the World Cup come November 1 maybe they can have an initial chat with Dominic and Radley can also assist

Young is good, but we don't need him right now, and we won't pay overs that some of those other clubs will. Paulo will be good for us, we have Suaalii, Toops. don't need another winger. we need cover at half and 5/8th much more.

Young's contract at the Knights reportedly was /is $110k in 2021 /$115k in 2022 /$120k in 2023.- Signed as an 19 year old - only 2 games of ESL

See what happens after November 1 2022.

When you have predominately Norths contracted players playing NSW Cup compared to Roosters contracted players you naturally see a disparity in the level of play/skill between the 2 groups of players

The Roosters contracted players would be training full time with the Roosters NRL squad including having the access to all the coaching and support required whereas the Bears contracted players would be training 2 or 3 times a week being very much part time footy players and largely without this additional coaching support.

Plus throw in that it was a Bears coach who may have a different idea/view of how the team should prepare and play to that of the NRL coach.

With the Roosters having their own NSW Cup side from 2023 this will greatly assist in the development of players through the pathway/senior rep system as the Roosters will have full control over training and the way teams play.

It will join the dots so to speak in fast tracking the development of players under the one system to NRL level standard.

at Vunivalu. I think Toops probably only has a couple more seasons left and I personally don’t think Suaalii will hang around
Wow I didn't realise he's still only 26. I thought he was older than that. Turns 27 in Nov.
