Couldn't crack the Dragons team, then took a break for 'personal health issues'. Don't think he would be a handy replacement for anybody to be honestOriginally posted by Nathan Aboud View PostGeorge Burgess just released from the Dragons, handy replacement for SST...... Will come cheap as another big bopper will make our bench a lot stronger. Like Lodge, had some errors in his game but Robbo has been able to take care of that so I say go after him.

There is only 1 Burgess & that’s Sammy boy. Unfortunately he has retired, forget the others.
I like grubby players but George Burgess goes beyond grubby, he’s a dirty piece of work. That eye gouge on Robbie Farrah should have seen George given at least12 months suspension.
George is injury prone as well.

David Fifita is an interesting one. Currently on a million a year at the Titans, looking like he will need to take a heft pay cut to around that 600-700k mark.
We had been tracking him for quite a while and I believe were interested in him when he eventually signed for the Titans.
Turns 23 next year so still young for a forward.
Real prodigious talent. I can't recall many if any forwards who move as well as him with ball in hand for his size. A 3yr contract, 1.8m under Robbo. Would be a great move for him and potentially a really good piece of business for us.
He's off contract in 2024 and if say Suaali was to leave or JWH hung up the boots then we may be able to make the money work.
I think it would be a really exciting signing.

Has a tendency to get arrested though...

How much of his game is trampling over wingers?(Exaggeration)Originally posted by Rooster_6 View PostDavid Fifita is an interesting one. Currently on a million a year at the Titans, looking like he will need to take a heft pay cut to around that 600-700k mark.

He seems to run so wide, how would he fare under Robbos "Rooster way" running straighter lines?
Or, is he that player you get anyway because he can be that good.
His inconsistent performances up here on the goldie for a million a season is a bit rough.
Although like the cheese, a dangerous player you don't want to play against.

The Roosters are more than covered in the back row with Crichton/ N and E Butcher/ Sitili and Wong for starters.Originally posted by Rooster_6 View PostDavid Fifita is an interesting one. What we need is another first grade standard prop. Jarred will inevitably be injured and/or suspended throughout the year. Collins is so stupid we’ll be lucky to get ten games out of him. Assuming Lodge stays, we’ll still be short a front rower.

One of your best Thirteen, I also recognise that quality in in Collins. gave me a good laugh for the day.Originally posted by Thirteen View PostWhat we need is another first grade standard prop. Noticed Collins has been named to play for Australia.
Does this mean nobody's suspended next year? Since Toops and Manu are playing, I get the feeling we're a chance of being full strength.
Re 31's comment, I reckon Collins just needs to stop lifting people's legs in tackles. It's a bad habit that gets called a 'hip drop' every time.
Lodge's paperwork's gotta be close to being finalised. Assuming he doesn't start ahead of Collins, he's our 'backup prop' that you're looking for. Aren't there also those brothers from QLD that we previously bragged about poaching?
I dunno. I'm more concerned about what we do when Lodge gets picked for NSW/Australia and asks for him market value rather than playing as a cheapo misfit.
