I think there is a lot more to being a top side again than signing Brandon Smith

Tapine, tpj. That’s just two from the current free agents. I’m not saying they’re better than smith cause they’re not. But the difference they would make to our team is far greater than the difference in skill between verrills and smithOriginally posted by shagger View PostYou tell me what other player out there would make a difference to our side with the way RL is played today?

Might be tough to prise away from the warriors but you have a point the guy has an eye for talent, if you look at successful teams in many sports not just league there is someone in the organisation who has the knack of spotting the good ones from a tender age and are recruited.Originally posted by Paddo Colt 61 View PostWhat's needed is O'Sullivan back in recruitment. Can't buy Premierships.

His kicking out of dummy half against the Titans was very good and I haven't seen that from a Roosters 9 for a long time.Originally posted by Headless Chook View PostWhy do I keep reading that peoiple rate Keighran so highly? The guy is an average footballer who can kick goals. If he was any better than average neither the Panthers or Warriors would have let him go in the first place

for me personally he is a better long term prospect at hooker than verrills. theyre similar ages (2 years apart), keighran offers classy open play kicking and goalkicking, and his service while not as clean as verrills, is still good. defence is a bit suspect but can be taught given the right coachOriginally posted by night_shadow View Post

[QUOTE=Mickie Lane; And Ronnie Jones & Bob Seabrook. Good old days.
Ol' Boliver Seabrook - Colts stalwart for many many years. Maybe a founder of the Club in '49. Had to wait till '67 for the first A grade premiership (my old team).
O'Sullivan was, of course, part of the modern regime. Signed 'Trell.

YesOriginally posted by shagger View PostIf ever we are going to be a top side again we need smith. The game today demands a player like him. Look at last weekend the dummy half service was not good Sammy is only young and can learn off the cheese or maybe suited to a good bench sub to have & the cheese could then play another position. This is the player we need big time. Also keep an eye on the Lomax situation at the drag queens this could play into our hands a top centre who can kick goals.
