Yes spot on mate!Originally posted by Darkone View PostAnasta will put in a good captains knock this year after discovering he is a useless golfer
Our pack will scare the hell out of most teams
Our new centre/wing options will surprise & convert opportunities if they receive silver service from the halves
Pearce & Anasta still works for me if the team plays well, Mortimer will finally come out of his shell & Smith will give him a shot
The return of Kennedy, Maubs & the likes of Cordner, Symonds, Guerra & Tasi stepping up will provide solid backbone
The impending arrival of Maloney & SBW will ensure players step up & make a name to secure a future
Smith will need a top 8 mid season result to stop Politis talking to Bellamy
Fitzy in the coaching team will prove to be a revelation & Elliot will stop Smith's Dr. Frankenstein tendencies
Half the comp have new coaches
My prediction: top 6 as in 2010 & Smith keeps his job

[QUOTE=Headless Chook;169970]What is the fascination with Bellamy? He's not coming here and never will, he's a News lackey so if he leaves Storm he would be more likely to end up at the Cowboys or even the Broncos....somewhere where they can spend bucketloads more cash on not only the playing roster, but all the
For me the fascination with Bellamy is i believe he is in the elite top 3 coaches with Bennett and Hasler. The past 6 premiership winning sides have been coached by these 3 coaches with 2 titles each.
I saw a statistic about a month ago which showed winning percentages for coaches since 2006. Bellamy had the best percentage which for memory was 70%, the next closest was Hasler on 63% and Bennent around 60%. Smith was around 50%. Those stats speak for themselves!
Craig Bellamy has a proven track record, 4 grand finals in a row with 2 premierships, most likely would have made it 5 in a row if the Storm weren't stripped of all their points in 2010, and came within a whisker of making the grandfinal last year and imo would have if Blair wasn't suspended. For Bellamy's Storm side to take out last years minor premiership was an outstanding effort, just look at some of the bloody ordinary players he had in his side such as Jaiman Lowe, Adam Woolnough, Troy Thompson, Anthony Quinn, Rory Kostjasyn, then players like Todd Lowrie and Bryan Norrie are hardly world beaters either! Then you add to that the 2006, 2007, 2008 minor premierships, simply incredible!! Bellamy can attract the very best players to the club, I doubt Brian has that same attraction for players. Bellamy has the ability to reinvent experienced players and turn an average player into a star. Bellamy would be the best man available for the job in 2013! We can get him if Nick really wants him, all it will take is for Nick to open up the purse strings a bit more and instead of paying what Smith would be on around $400k, he would need to fork out about 1mill just like the knights and dogs are doing. The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!
Here's looking at you, kid.

I will quote myself, "For Bellamy's Storm side to take out last years minor premiership was an outstanding effort, just look at some of the bloody ordinary players he had in his side such as Jaiman Lowe, Adam Woolnough, Troy Thompson, Anthony Quinn, Rory Kostjasyn, then players like Todd Lowrie and Bryan Norrie are hardly world beaters either! He won last years minor premiership 100% above board, and as i said was very unfortunate not to make the GF.
You can argue all sorts of points when it comes to the storm's history between 2006 - 2010. The thing for me is, is that all those great players that Bellamy had such as Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk, Greg Inglis, Israel Folau and Adam Blair all came to the storm as no bodies and he turned them into stars!! Other good players such as Matt King, Brett White, Jeff Lima, Sika Manu, Aiden Tolman, Ryan Hoffman again were all no bodies until coached by Bellamy. He was punished by his own success!
A few other points you could argue is that the storm lost the 2006 GF to the broncos (which the storm were a bit shafted in), that broncos side imo would have been cheating the cap. The storm won the 2009 GF with the handicap of having Finch at 5/8th. Imo the storm sides that won the 2007 and 2009 titles do not win those titles unless they have a bloody good coach such as a Bellamy, Bennett or Hasler. If Brian Smith was coaching the storm they would not have won those titles. The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!
