Did he have a choice? It isn't like someone who had played 5 games in 3 years could put the hand out for more. I can't imagine there was a long line of clubs chasing him either. Not just having a go at Cherro but I hate how players who spend years injured on the sideline then bring up the line how they are willing to take or have taken a pay cut to sign somewhere.

He's the new Brett Papworth, potential to burn but never gets to show it.

Poor Brett Papworth, he was such a good player with terrible luck. Anyone got any footage of him? My vague memory was that he had some amazing side-stepping footwork.

Not saying he should be treated any different because he took a pay cut, simply stating that he is on hardly any money atm and contributes very little to the salary cap. And I would be surprised if there were no other clubs after his signature actually. I cannot comment on his 2011 trial form but I did see him in a couple of the 2010 trials and Kiwi Rooster is right, he looked easily the most dangerous forward out there in both games really. After a disappointing second season (injury, off field issues and form) he was in for a massive 2010 running off Carney. It was terrible to see him go down right in front of me in the trial against Parra with two minutes left. If he gets back to that form by the end of the year everyone on here will be calling for his re-signing despite his history. Guerra is an excellent example of perseverance paying off. At the right price Bellamy would take him back in a heartbeat. I don't want Easts to be in the same position when the disadvantage in keeping him was negligible.

TLR, I remember talk mid season about Mose possibly being out for the rest of the season with a neck injury not dissimilar to the one that saw Conn retire. The trials will be very interesting now to see how Evans and Ailaomai handle themselves against first grade opposition. Also noticed that Arona has bulked up to 106kg. I'd say that's about 4 kgs heavier than he was playing last season. Might also see Taka play front row in the trials too if Mose Tasi and MK are all still out. Smith said he sees him as a prop long term and it's probably not a bad idea to start now with the plethora of good backrowers we have. He's certainly big enough, runs straight and hard when he hits the ball up and has very good footwork at the line. This in combo with his height mean he'd still be able to offload as effectively in the middle as he does on the edge.

With the amount of game time he had the only footage would be of him having his jaw or shoulder smashed.

Just saw on Twitter that Adam Henry has fractured his wrist at boot camp. Not a good start.

I wonder how he managed to do that.

To Yak, thanks for the extra detail on Mose earlier.
Taka as a prop, very interesting.

FPN as prop and Bosden/Anasta at lock

Well I guess we're farked then mate.

I'm going off last year's performances (cos the team's make up in 2009 was completely different + different coach) and we certainly played better when he was in the halves and we had 6 working forwards.

I like Taka out wide to be honest.. With his size and footwork he showed how dangerous he can be when isolating defenders one on one, either to run himself or get on the outside of the defender to put his support away.

I swear I remember Taka hanging out with the touchie in the second half against Melbourne?? this year.. He had been playing in the centres and then he swapped when BJ got injured to end up on the wing..Was I dreaming???

Now he is going to play prop???

Surely he is a second rower...I see similarities between Taka and a forward playing John Sutton..(I know he is hopeless at 5/8). I just hope his brain and heart are bigger than the size of a pea....
