  • Sam Walker & Billy Smith

Interesting to see what the new dates mean for these two.

Sam Walker turns 18 on June 2nd. A week after the comp restarts.

Billy Smith will be 5 months into his 7-9 month recovery time when the comp restarts at the end of May.

If Kyle Flanagan struggles throughout then I would give Walker a chance. Seeing highlights of Sam Walker makes me excited of his potential. Billy Smith on the other hand, I hope does come back but I would wait on him because personally, I wouldn't rush him back in the side just in case anything bad happens.

I saw an interview afew weeks ago with Smithy ..In that he stated he won't be playing till next year...you never know though .

i hope we do not rush sams development, although he looks promising he is still fairly small and would be ran at 24/7. Lets give flanno a chance before we talk about putting walker in. He is only 17

Yeah, that's why I said if Flanno struggles, obviously everyone would want to see Flanno fulfil his potential, including myself. He's has flashes of good play and I hope he pans out well but, it's always worth a go if he has a poor run of games.

I give Sam Walker zero chance of playing FG this year.
People are playing with themselves if they think otherwise.

The club would have to be down Flannagan, Lam, Hutchinson & Verrills before they would consider him, He is not NRL tough yet he would get smashed.

It's all too confusing for me.

              In Trent I trust.

Agree Mick. This is a development year for him all round.

It's just a shitter we haven't got lower grades playing. Maybe he gets a run in the "leftovers trials" the Apollo team will discuss tomorrow.

If it was a 'normal' season I think he may have seen a few minutes over the SOO period, I don't think he is a chance now.
I also think if Hutchison was to start in numerous games for us we would be absolutely farked

I personally hope Flanagan plays the house down and we don't have to worry about it.

Can't see Billy Smith playing this year.

Sam Walker will be doing well to be playing next year let alone in 2020.

Now that J Morris has arrived Smith has dropped in the pecking order.

No need to throw Walker in too early. Nikorima became damaged goods when we put him in earlier than we should have

If either play first grade this year it will be a shock. Smith will probably be alright to play by the end of the season but the lack of reserve grade means he can’t get minutes to build confidence.
