  • O'Brien

    Off to Knights.

What impact, if any, do you reckon it will have?

Our attack has been pretty bloody flash since he took the reigns, hard to argue with that.

Well I think that now that it is settled that everything is fine. If it dragged out over a month it would have been a massive distraction. As long as he finshes the season I think it is a reasonable outcome for all involved.

I think we should sign Dylan Murphy to replace O'Brien.

Can't see how it will derail us. Everyone in the club wants to win the comp.

Interesting to see how he goes as a head coach. He's not a leading former player with a high profile and he doesn't especially come across as a natural leader.

              Good luck to him.

It's a good thing for our club to have another assistant appointed directly from our ranks into a head coaching role.

There will be plenty of candidates lining up to replace him.

A breakdown of how our attack has improved from last season to now, Adam O'Brien obviously played a part in this improvement.

Yeah I literally know nothing about him so we'll see I guess. From the media all I've heard is claims that:
                    - he's really tough on slackers and only accepts a winning culture; and
                    - he got the most outta Latrell + Munster.

                    My immediate response is:
                    - Sounds a bit like JT... good analyst and a valuable assistant. Maybe not quite ready to coach a team he's never met given he's never coached a battling team? He's never been assistant coach in a circumstance where his team's doing shyte, he's given them a filthy spray every week, he's tried to demand they stop making stoopid errors and everybody's worn out. Robbo has been there and has taught all over the world so brings a certain air of wisdom as a result.
                    - Latrell and Munster are both very instinctive players and I doubt he has played a big role in either of their development. Also... Latrell crushed Munster in the GF last year (where Munster had a hot head and lost it - a really poor sign of his composure under pressure). Munster has been cooler this year without him. So what will it be? Did he coach a failed Munster or Latrell (who was already a superstar)? Frankly, I don't think he made either of them...

Last season we had two new players in the spine, this year everyone is used to each other. O'Brien might well be a wiz, but he's not the only reason why our attack is better this year than last.

I feel very comfortable after hearing Coops speak on NRL360.

Emphasised O'Briens qualities as a person and how he spends extras with any of our players, elite or bottom end, to work towards improvement.

He has no doubt that the man will bust his butt to contribute to us getting the cash this year.

                        That will do me.

I think Cronk will now take on the role in some manner next year or at least I hope he does.
