Lachie Lam is already better than Flanagan...quite a bit actually.

I really hope he gets a fair crack. I hate it when we bring a guy along through the grades and then don't capitalise or give them a real shot. I reckon he has the goods.

I disagree completely. My opinion only and I don’t really have two legs to stand on with this opinion but I really don’t see anything in the kid.
He has a little bit of pace etc and would be a good reserve grader but as for first grade standard I would compare him to a Daniel Mortimer. The standard of halves right at this moment isn’t too good compared to past years. From what I have seen Flanno rules the roost on Lam by a fair bit. He looks confident, hungry and skilful, which I haven’t seen in Lam.
And in seeing Lam and Lamb in reserves, I would almost say that Lamb has been better than Lam

Sigh... I remember when this was a 15 year old Hastings and people were going at me saying 'NAH MAN HE IS READY!!!' when I was like 'he's a kid... won't play NRL for ages and could be absolute rubbish by then...'

          Flanno?

You may not have "one" leg to stand on reading this...

That's gold. Must use that one.

And for what it's worth...I completely agree with you. Lam should be given as much support as possible to make that role his own next year.

So what do you suggest, let other teams sign up the best young talent? How do you think we got Latrell, Manu, Sitli etc.. We signed them up at the same age or even younger than Sam Walker, that's how.

Pearce was supposed to be the boy wonder as well, we all know how that turned out. Let's reserve judgement till we see the kid in action.

I don't think he's saying that we shouldn't sign him, its more a cautionary tale of expectation vs reality

Like I said if anyone thinks that a 16, 17 or 18 yo will take over from Cronk then they are delusional. Who will be the next half back after Cronk? Keary.
Who will be the Roosters 5/8 in 2020? Dunno.

If he turns out alright, we’ll have a halves combination of two Ipswich blokes. Last time that happened it turned out alright for Brisbane.
