Love that jersey. I rarely buy new ones but i got that jersey as soon as it was released, love the emblems on the sleeveOriginally posted by John Corey View PostWhat's with the Pearce/Hunt comments? I didn't watch the CH9 call?
2 things:
I'm sick of hearing excuses for Saints coz of their Origin run. We had just as many in.
And gosh I love our Heritage Jersey. Sensational.

i like how the heritage jersey has our previous logos on the sleevesOriginally posted by Tommy Smith View PostAgreed on the jersey.
As soon as I knew we were going to wear it I knew we were going to win.
It has a '2002 winning White' feel about it. I say we wear it every week from here on in.EASTS TO WIN!

Yep agree with the post, it’s very frustrating. But I’ll tell u what I watched the replay again this morning and for the most of the match our defence was incredible. Saints got a lot of second phase play, at some points of the game they were offloading at will, but our scrambling defence in the middle was outstanding. Then when they would spread out wide and our defenders looked as though they were perfectly in sync. Good communication and moving as a complete unit (Manu and Latrell included who in times past have proven to be Weak links). The base of a great defencive team is well and truely there. Iron out these few issues we have and look out! We are sitting pretty IMO...Red, White and Bluesters!!!

Brain, that idea would have to be right up there with Brian Smith pulling Lopini Paea out of a long stint in reserve grade for the 2010 GFOriginally posted by The Brain View Post
This is my coaching tip....Collins has inexperience and his body is not up to the Wall defence tempo we have .I would suggest possibly FPN may come in handy by the time we hit the semis ...he may be be average but he can tackle and hurt still.

Not too fussed. As others said, something to improve. Also hard to be 100% in defence when the game is well & truly won. I know that we sometimes hold sides out but it can't happen all the time. I think that defensively, we are playing within ourselves and when the time comes (as it did against Melb even though we lost), watch out.Originally posted by Ray Stehr View PostSaints bombed another one right on full time, we have to fix this before the finals.

Yeah I agree with this. In comparison to the last few years, we would zone out as a team and not play for the full 80. I consider the past two games to have included momentary lapses in concentration or individual efforts which have led to trys. The two do feel different. Helps being having huge leads anywayOriginally posted by Lydon View PostI feel like this year as opposed to last year we are finishing teams off and playing the whole 80 minutes..
Defensive lapses and fatigue will always be a factor, the important thing will be the lessons learned to correct for the following week!
We are sitting pretty in 3rd spot, this is ours to lose!

We seem to have a problem with Ben Hunt !
That try before halftime yesterday, was similar to the Anzac Day game where he also stepped Cordner right on half time to score. He again in the second half yesterday right foot stepped by Friend to score. I also have a memory of him slicing through us to score the winning try in Golden Pt up in Bris when he played with Broncos.
I don't think I've seen him score many individual tries close to the line against other teams, but he seems to regularly pull them out against the Chooks …. and we seem to fall for it all the time !
