I miss that bloke. He knew his stuff. A damn shame a minority of envious bullies on here ran him out of town.

I like Bennett myself - I remember when the Bronco`s were admitted into the comp for the 1988 season - Bronco`s signed Big Jack Gibson as a consultant to find them a coach - after accepting the job he told them Wayne Bennett`s your man- Bennett had taken over from Don Furner to be fulltime Canberra Raiders coach for the 1988 season after being Furner's assistant coach in 1987.

Bennett was released by the Raiders to become the Bronco`s first Coach for 1988 - Sheens was then signed by the Raiders as first grade coach after obtaining a release from Penrith where he was their first grade coach at the time - Ron Willey was then signed by Penrith as their First Grade Coach for 1988 onwards (Fittler's first- first grade coach).

Phil Gould coached Canterbury to a premiership in 1988 before being sacked at the end of 1989(replaced by Chris Anderson) - Gould then replaced Ron Willey as Penrith First grade coach for the 1990 season winning a premiership in 1991 after being runners up in 1990 - both games against Canberra Raiders.

A lot of Big Jack Gibson in Wayne Bennett - Big Jack was his mentor - Big Jack donated his consultancy fee from Brisbane to charity - reportedly 100k I understand.

Bennett said if it got out in the press- he wouldn't coach the Chooks - it did and he didn't - don't know whom leaked it though - have some ideas - kept to his word though.

Ben Ikin speculating that Bennett will be at Penrith next year based on comments Gus made about Bennett leaving Broncos. It would be ironic if Mr Handshake pulled out of the deal due to the speculation destabilising the Broncos.

So if he leaked it himself, you reckon he still kept his word!? Please! Wake up to yourself. Every tip or rumour you’ve posted has turned to skata. Get back in your hole!

Actually, didn't keep his word at all. Even after it got out he said he was still coming. Then Lachlan Murdoch visited him and he shiit himself.
