Was the "well known Roosters fan" just an moniker for Gus to write under or was it there really a well known Roosters fan writing? That was a great article and I am glad to see that 10 years later South's are no longer seen as the darlings and "pride of the league" by everyone else like people used to think back when they gained their re-admission in to the league in 2002. Rugby league thrived when South's were shit.

I think the email was legit. There's a Roosters fan who writes a column in an Eastern Suburbs paper (can't remember the one) and he's very well versed on the history between the two clubs. It reads like his work

I do not know anyone that knows Bennett, as that is my mother's maiden name I find it surprising and therefore I have decided that infact Wayne Bennett doesn't actually exist.

I can't see why not, they have no leagues club so I have no idea why they are entitled to the area which was "Stolen" from us. ESRLFC / East's Leagues should start pushing for it with the NRL.

Some clubs were definitely stolen, but some big on self interest like Paddo colts

and ran off to Souffs.
when they folded they were a souths junior club.

the others are so entrenched in Souths Juniors that they would not come back even if the boundaries are changed.
