And of course his match winning field goal vs the Cowboys in the Prelim was just as cool.
If we're level with 10 to go the only way we can win is via a try.Last edited by Tommy Smith; 04-01-2017, 06:17 PM.

If he's hopeless at FG's then WTF does he put himself in the position to take them? Common sense will tell you that Keary, Gordon or Latrell should've been the ones to position themselves for the attempt. Pearce had an age to kick that fg and I have to say that he looks retarded when he attempts one, Has he ever kicked one, ever?Originally posted by Rooster_6 View Post
He's hopeless at field goals that much.

3 apparently. He almost got that one last night, he seemed to just stop short as he was striking it. I definitely reckon he needs to practice his ass of trying them tho. But although inconsequential, it was a breath of fresh air seeing him score that try, usually he'll lose possession doing that, the guy is actually improving under John's and I'm not holding my breath but I reckon he will get better a fg's he just doesn't practice them

I'm always urging them to score a try as I know that a field goal is very very unlikely. Manly were actually stretched on our left side when Pearce took the shot. We are the comp's best mental midgets when scores are tied near the end of a game.Originally posted by Tommy Smith View PostAnd of course his match winning field goal vs the Cowboys in the Prelim was just as cool.

Robbo has worn out his welcome as far as I am concerned, he just doesn't have the balls to drop under performing players, no matter how bad they are going, time for him return to the French part time footy scene, we need to sign the Storm talent scout, our bloke is crap, the whole backline either cant tackle, or are just inept at it, terrible 5th tackle kicking options, week after week, we struggle against Manly, Saints wipe the floor with them. With this bunch of misfits, we'll be lucky to win another game this season.

His field goals have generally been an "icing on the cake" type deal to put us up by 7, 13, 19 etc.
:edit: according to rugby league project he has kicked 3. His last being 6 years ago
According to the Telegraph:
Pearce has now missed his last 18 field-goal attempts, which dates back to 2011, and includes his two botched attempts against Manly last Friday night.
Fifteen of those 18 attempts have come after 70 minutes or in golden-point extra time.
To put that into perspective, Queensland pair Cooper Cronk and Johnathan Thurston have nailed 10 of their last 18 attempts.

Lanie if your happy with the crap our mob are dishing up, I'am happy for you, mark my words, there will be very few wins coming our way for the remainder of this season. Big end of season sale required, and some new blood who can actually catch a ball, and make the odd tackle, not much to ask for.

But a coach, in this case a specialist coach like Johns, should be getting results in the department he's coaching. It's not like he is required to get the 2 points. Pearces kicking hasn't improved at all. SST improved last year. Perhaps This is as good as Pearce will ever get.
