In saying that though I think Vunakece has surpassed him as the 4th choice prop at the moment based on performance, I think he deserves to be dropped and I said so in another thread but unlike the others who should be dropped I don't think it should be done with the intention of being a kick up the bum but as a continuation of his development because I don't think it's his attitude or effort that stinks.

Sam Moa is very close to dropping out of our prop rotation, whether that's at the end of this year or next who knows but what's a certainty is that someone will need to fill those minutes and after Napa & JWH, Evans is our most talented prop. I'd be dropping him back to reserve grade, giving him big game time (60min+) and telling him to base his game on blokes like Aaron Woods and James Tamou who have mastered the art of being able to stand in the tackle and offload without the risk of error that Evans currently plays with.

Evans is still only 24 which for a prop is still baby years, if he can put his talent together and find some balance in his play he's still got another decade ahead of him in FG.

I wouldn't be keeping him out of First Grade for too long though. I really like him and I think he has the ability to be a top class front rower.
I agree with this. Evans has massive potential and will be a gun prop if he keeps developing. Moa is not very consistent these days and I think we should let him go at the end of this season.

Admittedly I wasn't gifted and didn't reach dizzy heights but I played in the East juniors from u10's to u17's until I decided to give it away due to ongoing knee injuries.

      So, what about you?

To be an avid rugby league fan and have an opinion does one HAVE to have played in the code for 15 years with distinction?
Just curious as to how and where peoples experiences and opinions stem................ As for me.. I played club and school footy both at rep level!!!

Like R6 indicated Kane is guilty of trying too hard but I won't hold that against him.

When your team's playing crap people look for scapegoats.
But the errors! Take that out of his game and we're talking.

Question G man..... Have you or R6 ever played Rugby League? If so at what level!![/QUOTE]

Interesting that one of the players to play at our club at a lower grade level only and few games for Balmain if I remember correctly is one of our very best coaches in 40 years in Trent Robinson - whilst one of our greatest all time players hasn't been in Brad Fittler - great natural intuitive player, when it came to taking the game apart in the coaching role not one of our strongest.
