Who were you referring too then? Most people agree with Smith that the decisions were poor for both sides and they are refereeing the game in a totally different way to how they were at the start of the season. How about you watch the video before commenting... although gaining facts before commenting isn't the NewsLtd way is it?

I think another one of Smith's opinions is that the 2 ref system's failing because there's 2 refs and 1 of them does all the work. I don't think he cares too much about the refs themselves, just the system.

My opinion is that over the past 2 weeks we have had a few rubbish calls against us. Cowboys in particular, 1 of our retrospectively legit tries was disallowed, and they scored one off a forward pass.

That's not why we lost though... we lost because we played poorly, and didn't dig deep when we needed to. During both games we had stages where we were within a try of victory... if you want a momentum changer... us scoring a try would have changed the momentum, but we didn't! That's not the ref's doing... that was our doing. I'm not going to blame individual players, but we're simply not playing good enough to win the games.

Instead of digging deep, and pulling off quality wins, we're staying behind, getting sloppy and losing games. The heart, skills and pressure need to be there... if we play well enough then we should be able to win (even if the ref's having a shocker.)

Your argument is sound - for the top teams. You are absolutely correct that the top teams can overcome shit refereering. The last time we were a top team was 2004.

For the mid tier and bottom tier teams (we all vary in our opoinions as to where the Chooks sit between these two groups) refereeing can make all the difference. A try before halftime in the Cowboys game that was definitely not a try and then one off a foward pass early in the second half was too big a mountain for us to climb. A very short ten metres and a sin binning can completely change the complexion of a game (Smith's point against Newcastle).

We are not a top tier team and refereeing does cost us (and other teams) games. It will not be the difference between making the Grand Final (we were never going to do that) but gees it frustrates the shit out of fans during the season.

Matey I do agree with you, AT the start of the year deadset I thought our team was reall the ****ing goods this year. Class straight across the field.

At this point that has faded away , I know we have ponly lost 2 games in a row, but it was the fact how EASY we were to be beaten. AT the moment, unfortunately the side is B GRADE and I hope that we turn things around after the round off this weekend.

the "us" he refers to ARE Rooster fans. Just not the ones with their head in the clouds. The year is 2010 sunshine, and criticism, not worship is where "WE'RE" at.

Really well said ticket. The ruck area was a case of one rule for the knoughts and one for the Roosters and it really showed in the metres made per set. In any case, the Roosters are a bottom tier team and their position on the table will soon reflect that unfortunately. Naturally I'd like to be proven wrong.

I think if we can keep key players on the field we can scrape into the 8. After last year I'll take that.
