He won't be blamed by anyone that knows anything about the game.

And the same people won't consider those halves as legends. They stank in both games.

Reynolds and Hodkinson were dead-set hopeless. The latter, especially didn't exist for most of the match

DCE made the clutch play by jumping out of the defensive line leaving an enormous gap....

Add to that, losing Brent Tate less than 10 minutes before didn't help either. Chris McQueen was wandering around like a Jersey cow on the wing so DCE had to cover both ways and was sold the biggest dummy since footy started.

I said a similar thing to a mate who is a PearceOrf fan, but not an Easts man, after game 1.

His response was that PearceOrf had no one to blame but himself. He leaves that club, better still doesn't go to The Cross that night, he's celebrating still now. So is Baloney.

He bought it on himself and has only himself to blame.

That said who else was screaming at the Teev to ping it left to AV and DoubleSteamer???

Fair dinkum both games all we did was go right.

Hodkinson I never saw till he scored the match winner. A true Steven Bradbury performance.

Great defence as KB said. Last year in the decider Thiagay steamrolled Baloney.

How overrated are the Morrises??? Fair dinkum GI and Boyd have been their top scores for years now, but all we hear is how good those twins are in defence. Well last night Dugan and Hoppa handled them beautifully.

We were butt ordinary in attack but amazing in defence. With our 1/2s we probably score more but probably get more put on us. Who knows.

I actually would've given Reynolds the MOM. I thought he really got under QLDs skin again. He was in their faces all night and they lost it more than once. He did a job.

Let's hope our 1/2s fire up even more after that.

Not sure why you "feel" for him. If he had of shown a little more respect for the nsw jersey he would have been there.

Instead he got on the piss and made the front page of the paper. He has only himself to blame and hopefully he has learnt that these opportunities are earnt, and not just handed out coz yur surname is Pearce.

He has paid a huge price. And in the end he did nothing illegal but got smashed and allowed himself to get bashed by journos. But he never should of put himself in that position. Only got himself to blame.

Crikey, if Watmough and Dugan can stay off the piss, or at least behave while they are on it, then so should Pearce.

He's 25 not 5. No-one should be holding his hand (or holding his coat for that matter) anymore. By the time he was 25, Freddy He played for NSW, a World Cup final and won a premiership and was Australian captain.

                1. Pearce, as we well know, is no Brad Fittler. He's not even John Simon in my eyes, for that matter. Four things spring to mind.

                2. NSW won with a real halfback last night...a poor halfback is better than...whatever Pearce's position should be.

                3. NSW won last night.

                4. Pearce had better hope SBW has twenty minutes left in him at the back end of the Grand Final again.

It's hard to judge last nights game with the first one when comparing the Morris twins and Dugan/Hopoate combo mainly due to QLDs plans to niggle and spoil for the first half. Had they been at full strength without carrying injuries, which I believed they were. then I feel they would have played differently. The Morris twins did some nice work in attack in the first game and showed some courage in defense. This 2 games was tactically very different from QLD and NSW responded.

Morris twins are awesome - attack and defence.

Can't believe no one's mentioned Ben Teo: this grub put on so many late hits, high shots and shoulder charges in the series, not to mention his Souffs games.

Bad luck for Mitch but that is sport.
It is all about winning. Think how many great players never won premierships (Peace Snr, Steve Rogers, Kevin Hastings) but very average players who played in the right team at the right time won multiple titles. It is just the way it goes.
At the end of Mitch's career he will have premiership rings

                        Agreed mate.

Before last nights game I saw the stats on GI and Boyd and they have made the most line breaks and scored the most tries in Origin over the last few seasons mate. Obviously that's where Thursthead plays too, their left edge.

I just don't rate the Morris blokes as highly as the media do I guess. They are praised for containing GI but he has been ripping us a new one for years now. The two blokes last night really contained him IMO.

Game one we ran all our plays right. Same last night. Silly IMO when you have a proven club combo on the left.

The one time we went left Steven Bradbury scored the winner. Bloody irony at its best.

Shame really for Cordner. Other than injury he's a certain starter and that left edge is an even better combo.

                        Still great result.

Correct both Dogs halves were rubbish.....Reynolds was diabolical last nite and couldve cost the blues the game

                              Just a thought.
That's about the extent of the analysis we'll get from the mainstream media too.

There's two sides to a half's game, the creative side & the organisational side, unfortunately for Pearce despite being one of the best in the world at the latter it's doesn't get 1/1000th of the discussion that the ability to create points does.

On that logic, he should be in the 9. I could live with that.
