Yeah, it takes great character to back up a 70 min player and bring quality every week on and off the field. Its hard to come on for such a limited time and get a good read on the game.

I think Morts will be long remembered by the roosters fand as an absolute professional and one of the keys to our premiership season. He has done his family proud.

Also hilarious to see all his knockers and detractors now. He has a premiership ring while others will never even play in the big one.

My advice to Morts stay put when your ona good thing.
we will win 3 comps in a row

He has said he loves the club. Will get more time due the increased tempo of the game this year. I think he will still hang around for a few more seasons, chances for grand final glory dont happen often. Eventually the big offers will be hard for him to resist..

He has done the club, it's supporters and his family name proud.

I said to my son today that Morts wouldn't be out of place on the bench for State of Origin

Well he's much better than Josh McCrone who's mysteriously being talked up.

I posted this in another thread and I will re-post it here because I can

Morts in the last 5 minutes was amazing.. He really stepped up and it was a very brave move to go for a grubber in goal, I'm sure if it failed everyone here would be wanting his head. His runs from dummy half with the dummies and then going the second man play to the playmaker was extremely smooth and fluent.

As for Pearce's amazing pass, if he went out the back to Maloney it would have been Maloney, Jennings, and Tupou vs Maranta so we score with that play as well, so there were 3 possible passing options in which 2 were definate tries.

I'm just really surprised that in a game so close where we need to score in the dying minutes to win, a simple, usually overlooked player such as Mortimer will take initiative and take a big risk instead of just blending in and being "that guy" who doesn't do anything amazing, or anything terrible.

                    Agree 100%.
Plays the perfect role for us and for him too.I really doubt any team will be pursuing him in the near future
