  • Daniel Mortimer

Won us the game last night. Under the new faster playing conditions, his value has increased and he might very well win us a few more last minute victories this year. He is very dangerous around tiring forwards.

His smart little grubber into the in goal earning a reset was the play that enabled our boys to get the ball back to score the winning try great work.

there's no shortage of Mort knockers on this forum
that last 10 mins he took charge & made EVERY opportunity count
He made the best decisions, took the right options & delivered quality ball to his half
That grubber & tackle was pure single handed genius under extreme pressure with no time left
I hope that those who believe he has no part in this team "shut the fck up!"

It will be harder for a hooker to play 80 mins with the speed of the game, we need Morts on the bench to spark the attack as friend tires at the end of his stint. Nice work Morts very controlled.

At the time I thought that the grubber at that time of the game was wrong as the broncos would have wasted time and against another team with better defense would have cost us the game. I would have preferred the usual plays left or right to score but alas it worked.

You're forgetting that, under the new rules, they stop the clock in the last 5 minutes.

"Alas it worked"? Don't you mean "Hooray it worked"?

Yes the clock stoppages have me a little confused AND Yes Alas, Hooray, hallelujah all of those that the grubber worked in the end. To reply to Darkone, I used to bag Morts back in 2012(not that you said I did) but grew to appreciate his off the bench work in 2013. Good to see his making his name proud.

I thought it was unusual to see Morts on in the last 10.. Was Friend injured or did Robbo just want that extra bit of fresh spark ?

I love Morty, as is well known but I still see his future at another club.

Friend was concussed wasnt he? Tough bugger, that head clash looked nasty.

Mortimer came up with the play of the game for mine. Fantastic grubber and an even better tackle.

Yeah I reckon he'll go elsewhere as well unfortunately, he's to good to be sitting on the bench for most of the game every week. He played a vital role in our win last night as well.

That play that pretty much won us the game last night showed us the quality player he is.

He deserves a starting no. 7 jersey at another club so I will be the first to thank him for the invaluable presence he has provided for us. Keep it up Morty while youre still in the RWB mate!
