My sentiments too. Throw in Smith and Inglis as well. I guess it comes back to the whole Qld v NSW thing, I just can't like the smugness that some of them show. Matt Scott and Corey Parker I like. They come across as unassuming but the rest of them have that smugness that comes with success and a touch of arrogance I suppose.Originally posted by Pass the Ball View PostI guess it feels fairly empty because it really was such a predictable result.
The bookies knew it from the start, giving some juicy odds for NZ to win it, but they were never really a chance. They saw the punters coming and fleeced them.
The England NZ game was fantastic, but left NZ so bruised they were no chance this week.
IMO Australia have some really unlikable characters in Slater, Gallen, Boyd, Thaiday...the list goes on....

I've still got all the roo tours on video.Originally posted by stsae:351905But have they not all won GFs???Originally posted by stephenj View Postslater, smith jt, cronk and inglis may have won the world cup, but they did not win the grand final!
They hadn't won a WC though.
I was impressed how they celebrated. They showed a lot of emotion and seemed to really be a tight unit even insisting the non playing members of the squad join the podium.
Overall it was pleasing to watch the tournament IMO.
Too many have lost the feel of watching the green and gold in RL.
I still recall Roo Tours, staying up late with my old Man, even when there were few or no Easts players involved.

I used to pull them out all the time when I was a kid, 86 and 90 are probably worn out I watched them that much.

I am telling you now rocky, best place in Brisbane is a place called The Plough Inn on a Saturday or Sunday arv. The peroni is cold, the bands are great and piece piss to get anywhere from there.Originally posted by ROC181 View PostWell yes i like beer but different types like a Coopers pale ale, or Peroni, or Crown lager...I remember when I lived in Perth had to drink Emu bitter...urgh!!! I can recall a night out in about 2003ish when I was with a group of mostly non Easts fans and we ran into some of the Rooster boys. We all ended up having a few ales and a chat etc, fun night.Originally posted by Headless Chook View PostMy sentiments too. Throw in Smith and Inglis as well. The next day to a person those non Easts fans couldn't believe how the boys were "top blokes", not the arrogant twats that they previously thought them to be.
I'm guessing its mostly only Us who think our players are all kool and the gang.
As other fans think the same about their players from their teams.

I'm jealous, I have some books but no videos from those eras.

You could say the same about Australia in the Sokka.Originally posted by Thirteen View PostCouldn't give a rats.
RL is never going to be an international game.
As the scoreline showed, there is no genuine competition.
Remember when the Sri Lankins were a warm up match in the cricket???
Pretty competitive now.
If we don't at least try and grow the game it's inevitable it will eat itself.
Even the gAyFL know this and act accordingly to ensure their games market doesn't decrease.
