Fittler took over a rabble of a team, we had a string of wins and nearly made the finals. His first full year we make the top 4, a year later mainly due to off field crap, and the fact that we had a virus called Mason in the team we farked up big time, and Freddy was a dead man walking. Nick farked off the man that dedicated the 02 GF to him....wtf has Smith got on Nick that he still has a job? At least with Fittler there was the odd set play and structure....

It happens in every work place that there is always a guy/girl that holds a senior position that everyone else can see does very little but the Big Big boss just happens to like them.
What ever the vision was that Smith sold Nick 3 1/2 years ago was so good that Smith is still able to sell it to him today.
You have to feel sorry for someone like Graham Murray.

I used to work in a major video store where there was a girl (hell, she was in her 30s) that treated fellow workers and customers like complete shit and the boss did little in the way of chastising her. We, the people who usually were treated that way, latterly found out that she and the boss had had a workplace affair and he couldn't do anything because she would take him to the equal employment commission.Originally posted by Mickey Lane View PostIt happens in every work place that there is always a guy/girl that holds a senior position that everyone else can see does very little but the Big Big boss just happens to like them.

Even though Nick is Greek, I don't think that's why Smith keeps his job.

I wouldn't have Gus near the joint. The club should either make a decision & hand the reigns over to Taylor for at least 2 years & hope he can do a Maguire or they need to get Bellamy from 2014. If they do that, what do you do next year? still hand the reigns over to Taylor for a year & get Bellamy to send Dean Pay up straight away to take over the defensive coaching.Originally posted by Cockadoodledoo View PostI also think he would be the type of appointment where 'gus' would be appropriate in a mentor role but only if Robinson was supportive of it.
IMO if Trent Robinson was given the job he should be allowed to run it solo. I know you did say if Robinson supported the idea.

Last seen out at The Gap.Originally posted by The Rooster Oracle View PostWho in their right mind would select the option of 'keep him as long as we can'??? I know one of them would be jackie's fur coat, but who is the other total idiot??? I notice jackie has been awfully quiet after last nights game, can't even come out to try and defend his two favorite's Smiffy and Mini!! Must be waiting for all the heat to die down before chiming in with his usual very worthwhile comments.
Also the 8 people who chose the option 'Let him see out his contract', really what is the point of wasting yet another year???

Get Jim Dymock for 1 year then get Bellyache if you cant get him and Dymock is doing well keep him. If hes doing bad get Neil Henry, Brian Mclennan(if he improves), Json Taylor or a new English coach. But IMO Dymock is a good coahc in the making plus he has experience from Hasler

The problem with appointing Gould is that he likes listening to his own voice, and doesn't take any opinions into consideration. I think that robinson needs time on his own like maguire or even griffin to make his own decisions and structure the team the way that he wants to.If he needs any help then he can be advised from the assistant coach J.Taylor. I'd also have fitzy on as full time u20s coach, after all he would be a brilliant mentor to the young kids on humility.Originally posted by Cockadoodledoo View PostI also think he would be the type of appointment where 'gus' would be appropriate in a mentor role but only if Robinson was supportive of it.Comment of the year:

Funny now the poll seems be evening out, 46% sack now & 39% sack at the end of 2012. I guess combined 85% generally want him gone by 2012. Bit over 14% want to keep him.
Only 69 votes so far, how many members here ? So I suppose the majority just dont feel strongly enough to vote so we have a real small sample. I wonder if these are the feeling of the wider supporters ?
Anyway you guys have put up decent alternatives, the one I reckon is a must (if possible) is get Dean Pay back. Dymock, Robinson (to me preferred) or JT would seem good options.
Smithy might be a triffic fella, and a maybe a good coach, put clearly it aint working here. Stuff like that happens in workplaces. I think he should stand down, but with the earner he's on why would he ?
Pity theres not a performance element in his contract.

You've been it in the head a few too many times LG Brian McClennan is absolute garbage he's got one of the most talented squads in the NRL and his team is just above us why on earth would he even enter your thoughts.Dean Pay and Bellamy would be awesome make it happen uncle Nick.Originally posted by Lemon_Goat View PostGet Jim Dymock for 1 year then get Bellyache if you cant get him and Dymock is doing well keep him. 24 hours on and I'm still annoyed.
Mostly, I'm annoyed that the club management has allowed us to be in the position we find ourselves in now.
When is now a good time to change the coach? I suggest the end of the season is the least disruptive time to dismiss Smith. Announce it during the semis - it won't affect our players during their offseason holiday in Mexico.
Surely Nick must have a replacement ready. For mine, Smith's replacement is J Taylor and we may be waiting for the end of Toyota Cup finals to announce this.
J Dymmock is a Bulldog and always will be. His heart would never be in the role. We don't want him. Haven't we collected enough of them over the years?Written and published on behalf of the Liberal Party, Queensland

There was **** all structure with Fittler.Originally posted by Assyrian_Pimp View PostFittler took over a rabble of a team, we had a string of wins and nearly made the finals. The only reason Fittler took the team to the top 4 is that teams were unprepared for how they played. They figured it out and then they were stuffed. A good coach changes things and refines them, Fittler just ate muffins. The Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

Dymock started coaching here with Sticky didn't he? I don't give a fark what club there affiliated with I just want a new coach. Who cares if he is from the dogs. What if Dessie has a falling out with the dogs, should we not chase him?
Just get a new coach, someone who smith hasn't mentored. Sadly that means no JT. Leave him with the kids he's doing a good job. I still say chase Dean Pay

I was actually thinking today what club Smith would get another crack at & the Warriors are the only team that I think would touch him because there coach is worse. Brian McLennan was given a premiership team & has completely balls it up. My brother who coaches his sons U6 Alexander Rovers side would have done a better job than him. The guy has NFI.
