Yes a huge test for us Penrith have been outstanding the first two rounds. Cronulla werent bad last night and showed enough to suggest they will be there abouts at the back end of the seasonOriginally posted by Bates View PostBig test next round as the Panthers look slick in their opening 2 games.
Their D is so well organised.I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

Hugo would not have scored arguably the match-winning try that DCE did.Originally posted by SupermanSupportsEasts4Eva View PostI thought Lindsay had a cracker. Hope to see more of the same. Toia was great. At the game, I missed some of his defensive efforts, so I'm glad I caught up with the recording this morning. Teddy, what more needs to be said. Our halves went okay, but there is still a lot more that needs to improve. As good as beating souffs is, I'm still of the opinion that Hugo/Sammy would be a better option for us.
Hugo will be ready to start at 6 when DCE retires.
Meanwhile, he could play right wing...maybe he might be able to stop tries being scored down that sideline.
Marky just doesn't understand that he's supposed to be marking his opposite winger.
Make him or drop him.
Watch the Panthers score 17 tries down his sideline on Friday.
Panthers will win the comp this year...unstoppable.
Mitchell and C Walker were rattled, we bashed, smashed and trashed them/Souths (legally)
Well except for Mitchell doing his "2019 GF 'lethal left side' trick" to put Johnston over for a try.
We played well but will have to play better to beat the Panthers.

Interesting thoughts post this game. I like to idea of Nat in the prop rotation. When the full squad is available, I think there will be one spot for either Egan, Foketi and Steep. Also think that Watson and Victor should share the 13 position and keep Ioelu in the 17 (19). The big take I had from this game is the Gee is a much better ref than Raymond.
They should never let "Glory to SSydney" play on the PA at our home ground. Surely we can control this and play the Benny Hill music instead?

Yeah was just jokin I think.Originally posted by Bansai Pipeline View PostSomeone mentioned in another thread that JWH took the forwards aside and told them what was expected of them against Souths.
I'd love to know more about that.
Just on Jaydub, whats the thoughts on his commentary debut for Fox on Sarurdays? I've only caught late grabs as usually outna on Satdays. Surprised he took the gig tbh.

Hugo Savala playing right wing over Mark Nawaqanitawase is the dumbest thing I have ever read on this forum.Originally posted by bondi.boy View Post

That’s where the game is these days - smaller, nimble ball playing players targeting in behind the ruck as the players tire.Originally posted by Renman View PostInteresting thoughts post this game. Haha, I think Bondi boy knows how to throw some good bait around, I used to think he he was serious with some of his comments, but he just takes the piss with most of those posts.Originally posted by SamKerrSimp View Post

Souhts pack have nothing outside of Keon. Murray is a fantastic player but not a game changer of note. He is a good target in their line as he gets run over alot, and his surrender tackles are being policed a little more by refs. Latrell and Fifita on that left edge strike fear on paper but in reality they need space to wind up, so if you move up on them they can actually look sluggish. I think I elevateed them in my mind more than was warranted...but def both deadly if given the time and space! Easts did well to contain them for most parts. (Take Latrell out of that team and they don't have points!)
I thougth Connor over played too much in good field poistion, doesn thave great vsiion, but killer in the middle 3rd off the abck of a quick play the ball. (and great D)
I thought we were dominant in most areas and should have won a little more comfortably, but Bennet always coaches good defence.

Could you imagine next Tuesday when the teams are announced that Marky has been dropped & Hugo is named on the wing.Originally posted by bondi.boy View Post

Marky dropped? he is the biggest excitement machine in the NRL. The media & every Rooster supporter would go off their nut if he was dropped.

Some teams will sprint up to the advantage line, hold their ground and then retreat attempting to herd the attacking threat towards the sideline. You can't defend this way against players like Mitchell who imo is the best ball-player in the comp.Originally posted by Nicola Tesla View PostSouhts pack have nothing outside of Keon. Agrees and he still got through 30 tackles. Good balanceOriginally posted by Bates View PostCollins played with more intent. SOO type of intent which made a huge difference!
He set the tone with his 1st hit up.
14 runs for 128 metres is respectable and takes the pressure off the other boys who are generally doing the majority of the hit ups.
Sharing the load helps players like Whyte who had 15 runs for 149 metres.
