  • Death Threats

    Daily Telegraph headline today:

"Sydney Roosters denounce death threats sent to players after shock loss to New Zealand Warriors.

The Sydney Roosters' shock loss to the Warriors in Auckland has taken a sinister turn after the club took to social media to denounce death threats made against their players.

Not long after full-time, the club posted a missive on their social media account saying they would not tolerate death threats directed at their players.

It is understood the NRL is aware of the Roosters' social media post and is expected to make inquiries."

    Me:

Article also states that 'upset fans' took to social media calling for the return of Hugo Savala.......

If upset fans were the ones making the death threats ( plural ) against the players (plural) then someone should be warning them to stop doing it, that it's a very serious criminal offence that could land them in prison....especially in today's climate.

not surprising given some of the stuff that goes on here.
no doubt it's easy to get caught up in the moment but that's ridiculous

That sounds very strange to be legit 1 game into the season.

Then again maybe some wacko believed the pre-season hype of the team & wacked a load of $$ on sports tab & lost.

He was better off putting it on a Storm Rd 1 win. Can't lose that bet.

Society is littered with all types of lunatics. Death threats over a footy game FMS get a life.

There's a 99% chance these death threats come from degenerate gamblers who had their multis blown up

If true, they’re a pretty lousy fan. Disgusting behaviour.

Let’s not assume it’s folks from the chookpen.

I cannot recall anyone ever saying something like that on this forum.

Anybody who's sending our players death threats can get farked. Call the cops in, hit them with charges and ban them from the footy (plus betting on it).

Doubt most of them are Easts members or true fans but if they are, we don't need them.

For those who are too spineless to shoulder a loss like an adult... don't bother walking all the way up to the stadium from Central. There's a shop half-way up Foveaux Street where you can duck in for a guaranteed happy ending every time.

What the fk is wrong with these people.

They should get the same back at them as punishment - random creepy people sending them threats, turning up at their door etc.

in addition to a stint in hardcore community service.

It'd be interesting to see how many would fall off social media including footy fan forums if VPNs were illegal.
