Thought E Butcher played really well last year, and in the trials went pretty well too. Mainly because he actually held onto the ball instead of previous years.Originally posted by SamKerrSimp View PostEgan Butcher stealing a living from this club it's a joke he's considered above Foketi.
Strong lineup, Nat Butcher will always be in Robbo's strongest 13 and I can't disagree with it.EASTS TO WIN!

Egan was good at the end of last season when he came back and he played well in the trial games - one of the few forwards who broke the line regularly.Originally posted by SamKerrSimp View PostEgan Butcher stealing a living from this club it's a joke he's considered above Foketi.

I haven't always been his biggest fan and I love Foketi but I can't argue with it.

back up outside backs are what development should be for. we should have a couple of strapping 18-20yr olds ready to come throughOriginally posted by Bates View Post
Would you spend $400k to $500k on a back up outside back and would they be happy playing cup?
That's the going rate if you want depth better than what we already have.

Be interesting to see how the 6 man bench works out.
My read (this week at least) is that 1-17 will play unless somebody gets injured.
Not entirely sure why our extended bench includes Ramsey, Pauga and Talau either? I suspect experience (and the salary cap) will dictate that most teams won't have enough depth to do as much as V'landys hoped they would with this change.
Also no Savala... is he injured?

Great team.
Apart from Foketi our 18-22 looks weak depth.
Robbo, Rads and Hugo to come in helps but that backline depth is poor.
Grubber said Hugo has an ankle injury but should be right for R1. Obviously didn't quite recover on time.

You must've fallen asleep during the last game he played before injury where he busted 180m up the middle against Haas and Carrigan änd was a brick wall in defence all in less than 50 minutes played.Originally posted by BTRD View Post
I'm not sure why Mr Lane ?? I can't recall a game in recent times when I thought as a supporter, wow one of these brothers is dead set " s hitt hot ".
Just an opinion as a supporter.

Because its just not about pure footy ability, its about attitude, how they train, how they get on with other team mates, how they get on with the coach, never having any issues away from the game, never bringing the club negative headlines.
Both the Butcher boys train hard & give everything they have got for our club.
Nat especially does alot of things during games that doesnt get recognised, all coaches want a Nat Butcher type player in their side. Robbo knows what he's going to get & he trusts him.

little bit surprised we're warm favourites with the bookies. sure, the warriors are missing first choice halves but at home they'll be tough, not to mention our recent first round record is sub-par.
early rounds are always hard to pick but we're obviously a fair chance

We have too many older players to make a serious challenge for the top 8 and we are just too error prone. Questions on our defense with both DCE and Walker unable to handle rushing forwards. They both let in a lot of tries last season and will be targets. In attack I believe we needed Hugo for good field position with his long kicks. Instead we rely on our weak forwards to get us out of our half. Collins and Leniu are unreliable.“Soon will the present day order be rolled up, and a new one spread out in its stead”- (Baha’u’llah)
