  • How to confuse AI (Grok, ChatGPT etc)

Just ask it: How many trial (pre-season) matches have the Sydney Roosters won and lost since the beginning of 2013?

    It can't work it out.

If someone knows the number, I'm guessing the win/loss ratio is about 10/90!
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Here you go. You can filter from here.

I'll take the 3 premierships since 2013 over any trial game wins..I'm funny that way...

Meanwhile Parra gets $100,00 and a trophy after 40 years for winning 2 games..

Copilot always gives wrong answers ha ha.

Also, how many ' semi final matches ' (which include all finals etc) have the Roosters played in, and won, from 2020 ?? It is not a happy answer from a supporters perspective.

LOL..I just came out of another AI workshop and am on my morning tea break. I asked nicely and got these results.

Since 2013, the Sydney Roosters have played
26 recorded pre-season trial and challenge matches, resulting in 10 wins and 16 losses.
While the club has achieved significant success in official competitions during this period (including three Premierships and three World Club Challenges), their trial record reflects a strategy of testing depth and blooding young talent.
        ESPN

The following table details the Roosters' pre-season fixtures, including the official NRL Pre-Season Challenge format introduced in 2023.

Which is why, like Trent, I don't take trial matches seriously.

Thanks for the data - what AI source did you use?

You are welcome Carlos and I'm always happy to search for fellow Roosters fans. I analyse data for a living so doing it for our beloved club is the fun part.

I logged in for a work Copilot workshop this morning, the second I've attended, and I went into AI mode via Google. You need to ask it very direct and specific questions and don't laugh when I tell you to use the word 'please'. This actually helps get better results. That goes for us ladies too..we like the words 'please' and 'thank you'..

I've seen that other site I started the thread about before and I love how it goes back to 1908 as well. There is a lot of information stored in the red text as they are all hyperlinked to different sections. One could easily get lost for ages looking at all that information.

There is also Wayback Machine which I used in my fraud role and you have the ability to look at archived web pages. Of course the first site I went to was the official Roosters one when I first started using it a few years back and it took me to a Foundation Cup match day info page.

            https://web.archive.org

It took me back 20 years..I was at Ricky Stuart's final game as coach too against the Dragons..

Like most of us, AI probably doesn't care too much.

AI scouts the internet for answers, (which is a big problem, because there is a lot of rubbish on there). Trial games are about finding the right combinations, seeing how young and new players perform, choosing positions, kickers, etc. Winning is not a priority, which MAY have something to do with the problem using it for an answer.

              BTW....Death to AI!!!!
