  • Classic Easts Plays

    In the Sharks v Eels match last night, Carney pulled out a classic from the Easts playbook - a cross field bomb that went 30 metres backwards.

    Plays like that are in our DNA.

    They're part of the club's rich heritage.

    Can anyone name any others?
    • The penalty that fails to find touch (at least one per game);
    • The short kick off that fails to go the 10 (I think I've seen us do one successfully)
    • The poorly defended short kick off (the ANZAC day special);
    • The charge down turnover (an Easts trademark); and
    • The re-start kick out on the full penalty.

    The list goes on...

    The knock on on the first or second tackle after scoring a try.
    The dropped ball on the first tackle after doing something amazing (including receiving an actual penalty) to get possession in the opposition's quarter.

      Why don't you talk about the times they do things that get you cheering till your voice sounds like a teenager that's balls have just dropped, instead of starting a dumb and negative thread!

        The finchy weaving cross field run with pass into touch was always a favourite of mine

            Brett Finch's field goal attempt that hit the corner post, I still giggle at that.

            Chook.

              Dude, our short kick-offs are usually successful.

                    What Tugent said.

                    But while we're at it,

                    The 'pass left from dummy half to Anasta instead of Right' play.
                    Is that the full story,
                    or is your news limited?

                      The 'Jake Friend fourth tackle penalty on the opposition fourty-metre line' play.

                        I like it more when say Kennedy from a tap kick in our own 10 metre zone stumbles over his own feet to then have the ball come off his head into the oppositions hands or when Phil Graham after scoring doesnt pull up in time & slides into the fence surrounding the ground getting his foot stuck under the fence for over 5 minutes.

                          one of my favs is 4 solid tackles keeping the opposition in their 20 only to give away a penalty on the 5th
