If you take out this modern political bullshit, climate change is a very interesting subject.
There's been life extinction events caused by asteroids, super volcanoes and climate change, like the oceans lacking oxygen and runaway greenhouse effect.

There's your myth right there. You should have said, 'polluting unreliables'. Flat earthers only see what is directly in front them and don't look any further, same as the hysterical global warming alarmists.
As for the fossil fuel industry self interests, your messiah Al Gore has openly admitted to investing in renewables as do those who are pushing the AGW lie (Turnbull, Holmes a Court, Pelosi, Kerry). All the while they still have their harbourside mansions (what no sea level rise?) and fly to climate conferences in private jets telling their disciples to do as they say, not as they do.

Too many of us using up a limited supply of resources.
The difference between a first world society and a developing or third world is the percentage that you pay for the utilities and necessities of life. Unless people are willing to go to a nuclear option for electricity the real cost of the closing of coal plants for the ineffective solar and wind options are going to be the test for genuine change.
It's all well and good saying you believe in it but when it means taking a massive chunk out of your earnings I don't think people will have the same enthusiasm for it.

All very nice, but:

Australia has met all its agreed to carbon dioxide reduction targets from Kyoto etc.
The younger generation has been brainwashed into thinking the nation can be powered by wind and solar...now.
It simply cannot.

Shovel the coal and pump the gas into the power stations at express pace!...or else the People will be chopping up their furniture for firewood to keep warm like the folk in Texas USA had to do in the recent snow storm/blizzard.
Petrol pumps in servos run on electricity.
No electricity, no fuel for cars, society grinds to a halt. Supermarkets shut. Computers shut down.
No electricity for home cooking.
Texas went down the renewables now path.
Texans immediately rushed out and bought wood-fired stoves and wood fired heaters for their homes...so they wouldn't get caught again.
Stock up on firewood, stock up on canned soup, instal a wood burning stove and wood burning heater...look how cosy and not hungry the prepared family is.
"Renewables now" is totally flawed.
