I haven’t actually paid for anything yet. Oh except for a small deposit on a B&B in Inverness. Everything else is Pay later, free cancellation so far. I still haven’t booked the airfares yet either. Actually I haven’t looked at anything for the trip for a few days now as I have my son’s 21st party to organise. I’ll be glad when that’s over.

Apart from airfares the deposits on Scotland and Italy have been paid now so nothing else due to June next year, mind you have not done anything about accommodation in London and Greece yet. The Italian leg will be the next big chunk but that's not due to June, my head is hurting trying to do the maths.Originally posted by mightyrooster View Post

Awesome. May I ask who you're flying with? We're planning to go to Italy and the UK next year (probably Vietnam too... with me going to Japan in late July). Almost feel as though I should sign-up for frequent flyers, though I hate 'points'.Originally posted by horrie hastings View Post

We've looked at Singapore, Qatar and Emirates thus far for airlines. (I use ANA for Japan and hmmm... 'whatever is cheapest' when going to Vietnam). Open to opinions though.

Yeah I still haven’t booked London either. So expensive and we’ll be there a while so I want to get it tight. It sounds like you’re making great progress though.Originally posted by horrie hastings View Post

Flying Japan Airlines to London and back ( overnight in Tokyo on the way over, 4 hr stop over on the way back ), KLM from Scotland to Italy and Volotea from Italy to Greece ( Santorini ), haven't booked a return flight from Greece to London yet as not sure what island we will end the trip on yet and also could shorten the Greek leg to fit in Sitges in Spain. Earn Qantas points flying Japan Airlines and i think KLM is a partner also, never have flown any of these airlines before.Originally posted by ism22 View Post

It will be the first time i or we have had to pay for accommodation in London so will be interesting. Not sure about Brighton yet but could be flat sitting there which would be good.Originally posted by mightyrooster View Post

Thanks MR, one of those rare days today, the flight left right on time, arrived on time, bag was one of the first off the carousel. Weather terrible up here, was sitting out the deck earlier but so chilly and windy now but it was nice being outside on the deck for a while.Originally posted by mightyrooster View Post
Enjoy you Brisbane trip Horrie.
Even though have things planned for the next few days I'm going to use this break to slow right down and chill out as I'm really tired at the moment, it's great to be away from work and not carrying the lazy managers work load..

It's driving me mental on the Gold Coast. I just finished installing block out curtains this morning. Wife isn't bothered by it but I hate it.Originally posted by horrie hastings View PostGetting light at 4.30 am is playing havoc with my sleep patterns. It's horrible here, the room we are staying with at our friends has lovely lead light windows and a large glass door off the balcony and the glass door only has a light coloured shade on It, when I woke up the first morning thougjt it must have been about 7am but it was 4.30 am, of course I couldn't get back to sleep properly after that.Originally posted by Dr. Voodoo Man View Post

Would have been cheaper to just buy a fishing rod, get up early and enjoy the early light! At least it’s not stinking hot at that time of day.Originally posted by Dr. Voodoo Man View Post
