Lol, some women clearly love a bit of conflict. But some of us, like RWB and myself, try to avoid it, especially on an Internet forum with a group of people we’ve never actually met.

Rented tracksuit was having a humorous dig at the fairer sex - ie my comment that we try to avoid conflict. Which was fair enough as my comment was a bit ambiguous. What I should have said was many women, such as myself and RWB, hate conflict and do our very best to avoid it. Which is why I’m on here again trying to re-explain myself properly. But that shouldn’t mean we (women) shouldn’t express our opinions. Unfortunately though our desire to avoid conflict does often prevent us from expressing an opinion on here when we suspect it will be opposite to the majority opinion and therefore lead to debate and possible conflict.

Also remember my comments are being made in reference to experiences here on the Chookpen. RWB and I are the most frequent female voices on here. There are only 2 other female members who post occasionally that I know of. So RWB and I make up about 1-2% of the female membership of the Chookpen. We come on here as passionate Roosters fans. It can be intimidating having a different slant on topics when we could be up against 98% of the chookpen, especially when our different slant is a result of a female perspective..

My initial comment was directed at RWB not the forum. She said she was withdrawing from political debate and sticking to music (her expert field) to avoid conflict. I told her she should not stop contributing to political debate just to avoid conflict as her opinion is just as valid as anyone else’s. RT made a joke about my comment that females try to avoid conflict. Which was fair enough (and quite funny!) because even after I posted it, I realised I didn’t explain myself well and it was open to ridicule. My last two emails have been an attempt to re-explain my original comments properly.

Most males have girlfriends / wives / daughters / mothers etc. It does not mean they know how it feels to be one of only 2 females regularly posting in a footy forum of 100+ males.

I was also not attacking you or anyone else, just explaining to the forum what my initial comment to RWB about females trying to avoid conflict was supposed to mean because I realise I didn’t explain myself properly. It was said in the context of us females in this male dominated forum. Hope that clears it up.

America is a bit of a backward nutty country- their whole system and constitution needs to be modernised - mmm right to bear arms !!!! that was for when they had no standing army only malitia's - in case the Red Coats(Brits) invaded again - which they did in 1812. No need for it now

Sadly no, a huge hit for the town. Most of the visitors are interstate anyway so would have been difficult under current enforcements (Serenity now...). Couldn't take Mum out n about this year anyway

Don’t sell yourself short RWB. Women are intelligent and compassionate and make up half the population. We’re entitled to an opinion just as much as the blokes are. But I can understand your reluctance, as avoiding conflict is also another female trait.
