I have been following Les Tricolores' (LS) posts and I appreciate his passion. Like LS, I am tired of listening to Robinson speak about everything else that is wrong in league such as his recent article about Gay rights in league. I am happy that this issue is being addressed however I do not understand why Robinson is getting involved. I don't think that it is up to him to push this agenda and this should be left up to greater political powers in the League hierarchy to move this agenda forward. As correctly indicated by LS, Robinson is now walking a minefield as he has taken up the gauntlet of gay rights and some other issues in league. I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO HEAR MY TEAMS COACH babble on about nonrelated Roosters issues in turbulent times such as these. If I wish to read about peripheral and ancillary issues in league, then I will focus on articles from League HQ by V landys, Abdo and Co. I think that Robinson's stance has compromised his ability to speak his mind because of the political correctness. In addition, I must admit that every time Robinson spurts' out such phrases as "The Roosters Way" or something to that effect, I feel that it is an arrogance that the players now believe themselves. This maybe the reason why the team does not put in during their games as they mentally believe that they are superior to other teams. I must say that the great coaches including Gibson, Bellamy and Bennett never used such terminology and phrases. I believe our team has lost its mental toughness and that our coach has lost his focus as he is worried about too many other non-related issues and is leaving the running of the team to his assistant coaches. I am not saying that Robinson is a bad coach however the old saying, "You stay on the ball and you stay on the wall" rings true here. Our coach is not focused on our team.

You can see where Phil Gould and the late Steve Folkes for instance got their coaching mentality from in playing under the Wok

Ditto Wayne Bennett who was mentored by the Great Big Jack Gibson who was heavily influenced by the coaching and managing style of the legendary Vince Lombardi

I completed those courses out of an interest in these sports and there wasn't any plan to reach the top in ARL as it was back then or MLB which is the most challenging sport to make it to the top in either as player or Manager/Other Coaching roles. i.e Pitching Coach/Batting Coach/Fielding Coach etc etc - let alone win a world series

It doesn't mean I didn't use them and are still not using them including even in paid work situations as there is a transfer of skills . knowledge and experience gained in managing, mentoring and coaching players in sport that can be also be applied to managing, mentoring and coaching a team of employees.

There are stacks of folk who complete Uni Degrees and TAFE Course that end up never working in the field they were studying in as well as Folk completing such courses out of interest as well.

If you are only undertaking courses expecting to reach some high level in your professional career then you will end up being disappointed when you don't reach that level as many don't.

Whatever will happen will happen and what will be will be.

It's your opinion about Coach Robinson which is a tad incessant one has to say but I very much question your statement that you " know" if someone can or can't coach on the basis of " I've been around long enough to know what makes a good coach and what doesn't cut it "
