The squad named (if it’s the squad which played come game day) will give souffs a red hot crack IF we are disciplined.
    EASTS TO WIN!

Agreed. I feel we're a hope with JWH, Cheese, Collins and Radley out there so long as they can all keep their heads screwed on.

Not sure what I think of the contest. Tatila, Cook, Burgess, Koloamatangi and Murray are all pretty solid... also we're still without Lodge & Crichton.

Not saying Souffs have set the world on fire this season but I reckon it's gonna be a good acid test for where we're at. We know what to expect from the usual mob of Cook, Murray, Graham, 'Trell...etc and I see Shaq Mitchell might be playing too (suggesting they might have a few big boppers out?)

Just hope we play a proper game of footy. Surely not THAT hard? I know we've got guys out but on reputation I reckon JWH, Cheese, Collins, Rads, Manu, Sua'ali'i and Teddy (without halves factored in) SHOULD be enough to steer us home if we can just cut the cr@p out for once.

"One rule for thee but not for me"

That souffs player that held onto rads in the final last year should have been binned for cynisism.

So we shouldn't retaliate. Ok. And if they're not pulled up on it we lose. Retaliate and we lose.

        Good luck Robbo.

That's the problem isn't it? Cutting the crap out. That last finals game wasn't even a game of football. It wasn't even a game of Rugba Leeg. It really annoys me how the media keep going on about how great it was. The Vermin did nothing special to win that game other than trying to decapitate Rooster's players heads and get us sent to the sin bin or sent off.

Will be interesting to see what team Robbo goes with come kick off. He never sends out the same team named on Tuesday.

Cheese could start off the bench with Turps starting

I don’t care too much if we win this game. I’d love to obviously.

But FFS just keep our heads and compete. Stay out of the rubbish.

We have better players. If we play smart and don’t get dragged into their stop-start idiot-fest we will win.

Still remains a big if, though.

                  Mitchell is a myth.
Kick it long and make him run all night.
Hit him hard a couple of times.
Check out how he went against Penrith after Leota hit him early.
Our guru coach should be able to get their heads right
and come up with a game plan.

Hopefully Teddy plays the full game unlike when he did in that finals game due to Burgess. Rads and Jared a concern not so much towards the vermin fb but wanting a square up with Burgess.

                            Totally agree about Mitchell.

He'll be expecting to be booed so we should also get into his head by cheering him at the start- or at least not booing.

Their bench looks awful too, still no Arrow for them, and Nichols who seems to always score v us, isn’t there anymore either. Play smart, no reason we can’t get this.

Yeah, I dont think Klein really knows the rules to be honest.

Sutton galls me, he is our smiling assassin, loves putting us to the sword, esp vs this shitheap.

Just on the tactical side of this game, Cronk made some interesting observations on the rise and rise of Souths, during the off season. Most people looked at their roster and Bennetts departure and concluded they would slide, me included. But Big Ears hasnt missed a beat. Theyve got better, not worse.

He reckons they are the masters of the set play. Penalties, recounts, anything that gives a short break in play and a regroup to set up their plays. Then punching yards and quick play the balls through the guts, and sweeping their well rehearsed left hand edge plays. Often resulting in points.

But... he noted they are much less effective if their opposition can keep the ball in play and go set after set with them...it upsets their rhythm.

I found this interesting. Are we smart enough to capitalise on this?
