I doubt that any Sydney team would have fared much better in that Queensland heat (it was the only Qld game) and our record in that sticky heat has been unimpressive. I cite the disasterous Darwin "home game" v the Cowboys a few years back. The "caulron" must have been literally that today - all glare apart from that shady corner.

The number of replacements was also a big hurdle especially against a majority ex Melbourne pack and some pretty handy backliners. Did the commentator say the Dolfs had 11 SOO reps in the side?

Having said that, the effort was less than inspiring and I dunno if the missing 5 will be back anytime soon.

Rubbish. South's, Penrith, Melbourne and plenty others would've put a big score on them.

We need a second rower that has attitude. We will miss Angus big time. I don’t know if we have anyone that could fill that roll at the moment Whyte is absolute shit don’t ever put him in NRL again.

Whyte is a long way off being a first grader. When was the last time. Collins made you think “Gee I’m glad he’s a Rooster”. Egan is far more effective off the bench. Our forwards were their bitches. No Angus, Sitili, Watson and Jarred is huge.

Changing the goal posts as usual coggy…. Let’s just pray we start winning so you can go back to the hole you crawled out of

Awful game from us. Once we started dropping the ball, it was all over. We need to learn that great completions rates are another form of defence, that's how the game is played nowadays. All I will say is, we really shouldn't be ruling us out based on the first round. A fast start really is really based on rounds 1-5. We get Manu and JWH back next week, and hopefully Lodge and Radley are ok.

It's about where and how the errors are made, not so much how many.

A dropped ball in your own half on a hitup is not the same as a dropped ball in a hole running play on the oppositons try line.

Just way too many fundamental errors and errors made in our own half today.

I’m sure the heat and humidity had an impact. That backline had Brenko Lee, Euan Aitken, Tesi Nui and Isaako though. Teddy probably gets paid more than all 7.

Today. I think Collins went great today. Made me feel a little better about losing Jared, even though I will always believe he's irreplaceable.

Am I the only one that saw this like Dolphins were playing like it was their grand final? And even then could have still lost if a couple things went our way? We will be top 4 and they will be bottom 4 by seasons end... that’s what matters... some of you really need to get a grip lol

I would normally agree with this take, but in this instance we didn't give ourselves a chance because of our errors. We couldn't even complete back to back sets in the second half. While we weren't by any means great in the first half, our completion rate kept us in the game.

When he played for Queensland in true Nate Myles fashion lol.

To be fair, he was absolutely killing it when he did his ACL. It usually takes over a year to get back in full swing. Hopefully this is the year for him because we need him to step up.

If we play every week with 2.5 m of our salary cap missing then we will struggle to make the 8 let alone win the comp. What is our win % when Jarryd doesnt play v when he does, that comes down to leadership and inspiration. Teddy is a superb player but he doesnt off the sort of leadership that Cords used to give us. Cordner just wouldnt cop this shit, Teddy will be giving hugs.

Another over exaggerated thread title of complete doom and gloom. Not to mention the fact it’s not actually possible for something to end before it starts.
