  • Pearce 2024

Rumours coming from a very well-placed source inside the club, suggest Mitchell Pearce will have a farewell season at the Roosters in 2024 -- even if it means playing Reserves and/or just filling in when needed.

Really?! You’d think he would just play on in the ESL and take the cash!
    Red, White and Bluesters!!!

There was an article about this back in November - wait and see although I have heard he will be involved with the academy in some way when he comes back from France - He has a Player Option with the Catalan Dragons for 2024.

Was average in his peak. Why have him back when he’s way past his peak. Won’t happen.

Bit like the Benji swan song at the Tigers. That didn’t go too well. Hopefully Pearce coming back has a better outcome.

I remember telling the wife when he left that uncle Nick would get him back for his last year.

            I actually like the idea

Hehe no thanks. That ship sailed about 6yrs ago.

imagine what he could get up to with an extra bye round this year.

make sure he'll have to kiss the jersey on both sides as part of the contract :P

He could take hutch or Watson’s spot on the bench, think he would fill in well, be nice to have someone who can kick further than 30m on the last tackle.

As halfback for our Roosters reserve grade side I think it would be a good signing.

I for one would like to see him run around in the RW&B to finish up his professional career and I wish more senior players would do similar. Give something back to the game and club who gave you so much. Would be awesome for the younger players coming through our ranks as well to have someone with as much experience as he does training and playing with them.

I hope it happens, even if he doesn't get a run in FG it would be a good signing for mine.

Pearce is not coming back. My understanding is that he came back temporarily for other stuff (family...etc) and did a session or two with our juniors where he talked about how amazing Easts' culture is (gave a very glowing appraisal of what Easts did for his career).

He's a 33 year old who loves his footy and is good enough to earn $$$ playing as a top notch Super League half. That's gonna be his retirement package...

Players have put their bodies through enough without playing crap level football for another season when they're on tired legs. It does nothing for their future after the game so why would they.
