My first Roosters game was back in 1978 and the unofficial Anzac Day game. I was one of the 25,004 (my father, brother, mother and I were the 4) who say them beat St George 22-6. I've been a fan ever since.

Win or lose, and there were times in the late 80's and early 90's when that's all the Roosters seemed to do, I was a fan and of League itself. But a succession of, frankly incompetent, administrators has driven the game into the dirt. This year it's become untenable, the pride jersey fiasco, the rule changes and the suspended suspensions were the final straw. So I've decided I'm finished watching rugby league, perhaps for good.

I have other sporting interests, like the MLB and Formula 1. So I'm not going to smarting for sports entertainment, to steal a phrase. If the NRL gets administrators who have some idea of what they're doing and they bring the game back to something close to what it is, I'll come back.

I doubt it's going to happen though.

I think the thread is more about the state of the game, not the Roosters. On that point I have to agree 100%. The game is currently a farce.

True the game I grew up loving has changed so much but my love for the roosters will always trump whatever they dish out. I’d love for them to win every game , every year, year in year out. However I’m old and mature enough to accept that we will lose more premierships than win , so when we win one I’ll celebrate and dine out on it until the next one comes along.

Whatever happened to the free flowing game of Rugby League? It has become a sinbinathon with the ref the main protagonist who decides who wins not the two teams playing. Our great game has become a farce and circus.

The Roosters were drawn into this and the trouble was they forgot to play football and wanted to carry on with it.

Similar to the old days of the "softening up period" where usually the first team that started playing footy usually won as the other team wanted to keep on with the "softening up" stuff.

“We always wanted to be brutal but obviously we took it out of hand with a couple of high tackles so some of the boys were sidelined and it cost us the game," he said.

That was their dirty strategy all along using Burgess. And we fell for it. They knew they couldn’t beat us if we played footy so they made sure all we did was fight. Where was leadership at half time? It seems on that day the boys took over from the coach and played their own gameplan.

Don't forget to attend as many home games at Allianz as you can...to make it a Roosters cauldron...and to keep Souths away.

Our team makes the 8 nearly every year a lot of times the top 4. The Roosters have won 3 comps in 9 years that’s unreal. We are in a golden era & yet your not happy with the admission?
I guarantee if you asked the Roosters hirachy if they are happy with the administration they would say yes.
The turn off for Rugby League isn’t the administration or the refs/bunker it’s the media who bung on 7 days a week all the negatives of the game & people like you feed into it. The games fantastic, it’s fast action packed combat footy that will never be perfect but it’s still simply the best.
