I suppose Manly and Storm were on the rise last year because they were in the final 6.

Not forgetting the Knights and Titans played finals last year while the Cowboys came 2nd last.

Look I think if we can somehow buy a couple more elite players we may have a chance next season. I’m thinking if we can somehow recruit Cleary and Maybe Munster it won’t be too obvious on our books. Let’s be honest, it’s our only hope.

Honestly and no BS. I think we have had the team to win the last 3 and Yes including this year.
20 minutes in we were premiership favourites and on top of Souths and would have put 30 on them if not for the coward intentionally taking Teddy out. I reckon the Cleary's would have been fist pumping the hit.
Unfortunately injuries killed us again this year as it did the previous 2 years. Only this year it happened the last two games. Losing Teddy and Toups our biggest metre eaters all year and Crichton our best attacking forward put the nail in our coffin. There was no Manu to take Teddy's spot and our backline reshuffle was probably the worst looking of any NRL team this year to play the whole second half. JS, Kevvy, Watto, Hutch and Momo. Name me a worse 1 to 5 in the comp. Not blaming them but everyone out of position or just average players in those positions. Blaming anyone for that loss is drawing a long bow. We lost solely because of our injuries. No injuries we smash them and we get Manu back maybe next week and definitely for Penrith.

Anyway as for next year we get Cheese who will be great for us imo. I think Paolo will also be a good acquisition. He will learn to catch a ball off the best. A backline of Teddy, Toups, Joey, Joey and Paolo is some huge men with speed and height. Momo and Smith (fingers crossed with injury) are decent depth which we have lacked in the backline this year. If we keep Lodge our forwards will be close to the best in the comp. Probably introducing a couple young pigs too. But we need our luck to change with injuries come September. On top of that I see Penrith, Parra and Storm go backwards with loss of key players.

And for our roster Yes this year has been another lost opportunity but I look at it with glass half full. There are mitigating circumstances. And losing to Knights, Dogs and Dragons and blaming Robbo and all the hypotheticals about resting players is a piss weak excuse.

As for Souths. They were grand finalists last year and probably could have gone close if not for Trell's hit on Manu (booooo).
Losing Reynolds has been massive. They are nowhere near the team of last year. Look at their last 8 games and they literally fell in with luck. They lost to Dragons who put 32 points on them. They just beat the Knights and Dogs who both put 28 on them. They beat a dreadfully out of form Storm and Parra and then beat Warriors who were already in Vegas and Manly who are in turmoil. From a football perspective they actually played very average yesterday and with a bit of luck we could have actually beat them with the team we had. Walker is not the player he was two years ago. Trell is one boo away from turning to politics. They signed a half back who wouldn't tie Reynolds shoelaces and marginally better than Parra's Arthur. Nobody decent seems to want to sign with them. So imo they are going backwards. I see no improvement in them next year which as I said will be a pleasure to see.

I have to applaud JWH's head slam on Burgess, even though others have had a go at it.
Burgess was out of control, taking Teddy, and (nearly) Lodge , out of the contest.
JWH was simply reacting to what this grub was doing to our side.
If Burgess had his way, he would have concussed the entire roosters team.
For those denouncing JWH's actions, have you thought about that?
Burgess' reign of terror was cut short by JWH.
JWH showed him who is boss, and Burgess will be looking over his shoulder next time the Roosters play the bunnies.
Tedesco and Lodge will have something to thank JWH for.
JWH is the protector of the Roosters- make no bones about it.
