SST said something about we let things get to us. When are we going to learn. Am I going to live out my next 40 years constantly being reminded of that game, 60-8, which I was there for every time we play/loose to them. Get over it. Please.

I am in a world of pain at the moment and it will only get worse over the next couple of days when it all sinks in.......
Knowing that the Roosters had the side to win this competition.
But they were bashed out of the contest (illegally) by Souffs , and injury cruelled our season.
There are lots of valuable lessons to be learned through this loss, and round 25.
Robinson talks of learning his lessons after games.
He is a brilliant mind, but I feel to steadfast in his ways, and in his principles
The best negotiators are chameleons, they change with the times.
It is obvious that the NRL now rewards players milking penalties
Also thuggery gets rewards, rather than superior footballing ability.
Souffs bashed us out of last season., with the Manu incident, and they bashed Teddy out of today's game.
Season over. x 2.
Bellamy and the Strom partly bashed us out of round 24.
If the Roosters don't get with the times, Trent will retire with 3 premiership victories, and his integrity and principles intact.
He needs to adopt a harder edge to his personality- the apology to Latrell about the booing is a case in point.
Robinson should have been sitting in the stands today, where I was.
When they announced Keary, Suaalii, , Chrichton and Trent Robinson's names, the Boos reverberated around the ground, enough to make your hair stand on end.

You would have thought after the strom game that we had learnt a lesson about the dark arts that some teams can use on us to make it a stop start affair and get our players TO TAKE THE BAIT!!!
The longer the ball is in play, the more it suits the Roosters. The scum and their coach knew they couldn't beat us conventionally today, and that was THE WORST game of football I have ever seen. 7 sin bins. 15 penalties.
Robbo, spin your magic so that whenever we play that disreputable, pathetic cheating rabble again, we DO NOT try to fight fire WITH fire. Look at all the incidents. Victor's first binning was created by the idiot who would not let go of him. The game was 40 metres upfield!
Recent examples: Nelson muntz holding on to Verills the other week, Latrell holding onto a Rooster for longer than a penalty could be blown near the tryline. These acts are far worse than penalties they are cynical acts that in my opinon, are professional fouls. Sinbins.
Radley did not punch anyone. He didn't run in and punch anyone. Yet burgess does not get sent for 3 almost consecutive high shots AND after being binned. I heard an exchange between him and that clown of a referee on field that he didn't have to worry about being sent after the third one because he had already been in the bin?!!
I haven't played footy but I know since day dot if you take a backwards step on that field you will probably lose. It is controlled warfare after all. So I get the actions of JWH and Radley and co. And if I had to choose those boys to have my back other any other weak **** that takes dives, I know i'm in good hands.
HOWEVER.
Its backfiring on us. Radley's second binning was exactly the same dark art as the first. The first indiscretion was caused by souffs players BOTH times. Yet they got off scott free. We may have recieved a penalty for the face palm on the Rooster on the ground but when rads ran in but he was binned!!! Again!
I mentioned during the week that I believe we are cleaner in the ruck than most teams as we hardly get any leeway in controlling the ruck defensively in order to slow the play down. But somehow, they have managed to not piss on the ruck like some teams do and at the same time, not get shot to bits through the middle. Nat Butcher is the best at it imo. Well done Trent and the team.
So if they can master that and limit the opportunites to be penalized, we don't have to "lay down" for penalties and can embrace the "Roosters Way" all day long. The recent sentiment on here today is that Robbo has to move with the times etc. That is always true in sport but if anyone thinks we are going to come out on top by diving laying down I strongly disagree. It would be the final nail in our coffin.
The same goes with the fire vs fire. When Nelson muntz tried to strom our castles gates a couple of weeks ago, JWH laid him out so well and legally i'll remember that shot for a long time. But he was binned because at the very end of the tackle, he decided to put his chin in the big bullys eye.
That is the line we cannot cross. Its up to the coaching staff to train them to not get drawn in by that shit. Win the game. Win the damn game instead.
We had our chance today, even without teddy and manu. We had 13 on 11. Attacking their tryline and Angus drops the ball and then they score to take the lead against 13 of us. We should have taken the game away from them in that period but we never regained momentum and it was all she wrote. Worst game i've seen from Sam Walker too. He wasn't alone. And another 3 players didn't finish the game.
I read a comment earlier that you can't win the comp by turning up for 1/3 of the season. This pretty much describes 2022. And injuries and the constant rort. It's of little consequence now but they should have dashed the "experiment" by no later than round 10 in switching Keary back into position or whatever they tinkered with.
They're still an incredible team to be proud of and God willing I get to watch them play for many more seasons. I will miss Taukeiaho and Verills greatly and wish them all the best.
And to everyone on here who truly cares about our Roosters, chin up we are a great footballing family and there are only good times ahead as WE SUPPORT THE GREATEST TEAM ON EARTH.
Go Easts.

I agree with you Lone Rooster, wholeheartedly.
Bondi Boy also make the very good point that we got bashed out of the game.
Our players got bashed, and did not come back on the field.
Yet the Vermin players who did the bashing came back on after 10 minutes, and finished the match.
You can bet none of the Vermin get cited, or suspended - V'Landys will say that's "unfair" to the Souffs supporters.
Give them all a customary $1,000 fine, even though one big thug concussed 2 of our players within one minute of game time.
At one stage last season, there was a crackdown on high shots, and players were immediately given their marching orders.
Not now - its open season for Souffs players, and they know it.
How can the NRL justify that that was a game of football?
There should have been send- offs to cool the whole thing down., straight away.
Instead Klien presided over 80 minutes of mayhem , and I am feeling sick, as a Roosters supporter, to have witnessed that rubbish.
I feel sick to know the team copped all those high shots, got belted out of the game, and will probably get a repeat dose next time we play the vermin.
I like my football hard and physical, but this illegal stuff is on another level.

Walker has done well this season, but is basically a slightly-built rookie with limited first grade experience.
Keary still resembles a slightly-built schoolboy.
He was a major part of our 2018, 2019 premiership winning teams.
They cannot be expected to play like Cleary, who is built like a forward.
Walker and Keary were instrumental in our long winning streak to make the finals.
Very good efforts from both.
We were leading in the match before Teddy was bashed out of it.

Hire some thugs!
[bTwo can play the "bash the opposition out of the game" policy.[/b]
This game was a good lesson for us in what Rugba Leeg is now.
Obviously you win by bashing the opposition's best players out of the match early.
You have reserve grade "hit men" do it.
You would have Latrell decked in a neck/lower jaw tackle exactly the same as Burgess did on Teddy and didn't get binned.
You claim it was chest high to the ref.
Bye bye Latrell for the rest of the game, concussed.
Then you do the same thing to say Walker.
Two best players gone. And the worst that can happen is you lose the big reserve grader built like Burgess for ten in the bin.
Doesn't matter if he gets suspended, you just play the next reserve grade 'hit man' thug in the next match.
Playing Manly, Cherry-Evans would get the "Burgess special" same as Teddy did.
Bye bye Cherry for the game.
And so on.
This "goody two shoes" footy we play obviously no longer wins finals games.

The major souffs tactic souffs put on that everyone missed was them holding down our defensive players and niggling them causing these all in the tactic was also to pull us up short in defence and attack..the game had I think about 22mins of stoppages.. that was enough for them to reset their defence and blunt our attack..dont get me started on their markets either...it was very poor officiating.
si here is the question we had players sin binned over it right?so where is the first initial penalty that shouldve been given?.
I would say most of our indiscretions were retaliatory .
Jarrod's head drive on burgess was warranted and good on him that farken burgess threw 3 head highs and a cooked elbow forearm into teddy...the milking my God tell me officials are not that thick? Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

Man, that was tough to watch.
I thought we had it all over them when we scored twice, and smashed Burgess , but we lost the plot.
When they started attacking the head in almost every tackle, our guys, especially Radley and Watson over reacted.
I think the pressure and the hate got to us, and we didn't handle it.
Losing Teddy was massive, and Radley was stupid to close his fist and give them an excuse to bin him.
I still thought we had the better team, but then losing Angus and Toops was a bridge too far.
Still hard to believe we lost to those grubs and our season is over.
Walker was overawed, still a kid.
Suaalii still a kid too, not ready to be a fullback, Latrell was the same when he tried to play fullback back in 2017.
Imagine up having a back 5 of Suaalii, Naquama, Hutch, Watson and Momo....... 4 of the 5 out of position and the other really a fill in.
We made too many mistakes, even though I thought that pass they called forward from Keary on the first tackle was OK.
Burgess not being binned for the hit on Teddy was bad, and cost us a replacement.
It was 13 against 17 for a while, then 14 against 17 for the last 25 minutes.
We just couldn't click.
A horrible way to end the year, I am gutted, imagine how the players feel.
We seriously need more depth in the backline next year, Paulo will help, i think he is a good one, maybe Smith will get back, Suaalii needs another year on the wing, Joey back, and Toops, and Walker a year older. Momo will get better, Hutch needs to learn to play in the forwards off the bench.... too clunky in the backs, although he tries hard.
We will be better next year, our window is still opening.

Klein strikes again while fully utilising that moron PVL's "dont upset the fans " fkn bollocks....how Burgess finished the first 20 mins let alone however long he played eludes me .....now i dunno if adam kreighton could have helped BUT that fkn ref made certain he couldnt get activated , so we will never know....3 things im sure have to happen in the off season
PVL needs to go
Annersley the Apologiser needs to go
and the game need to get wound back 20 years at a minimum
