The best result would be souffs stopping penrith going back to back, and then losing 2 GFs in a row to the Eels who would win their first since 1986.
I do think it will be a battle of the West GF tho. I've changed my tune somewhat about b2b, ours will always be more special as we broke the mould after 25 years.
The scum winning anything would be the worst now, especially after all their crap the last few weeks.
Sorry I meant the last 104 years.
**** souffs.

A huge home crowd might be enough for a fresh Cows after Canberra and Parra bash each other but I would be gutted as a fan of either team not to make the GF with that draw. You won’t get many more winnable prelims. Bash JT all game and you’ve won.
Most teams play is plain and simple though one has to say - Penrith play the same way week in week out - they just do it better than the other 15 teams and at speed.
The following is interesting - Penrith played the most games against top 8 sides with 14 - Storm next with 13 - Sharks the least with 9 games against top 8 sides and Cowboys the next lowest with 10 games
Sharks played the most games against bottom 8 sides with 15 with the Cowboys next with 14 games - Penrith played the least games against bottom 8 sides with 10 games and the Storm the next lowest with 11 games.
Penirth 2022 - 42 points
14 games against top 8 - 10 wins and 4 losses
10 games against bottom for 10 wins and 0 losses
Sharks 2022 - 38 points
9 games against top 8 for 4 wins and 5 losses
15 Games against bottom 8 sides for 14 wins and 1 loss
Cowboys 2022 - 36 points
10 games against top 8 - 6 wins and 4 losses
14 games against bottom 8 - 13 wins and 1 loss
Parramatta 2022 - 34 points
11 games against top 8 for 7 wins and 4 losses
13 games against bottom 8 for 11 wins and 2 losses
Storm 2022 - 32 points
13 games against top 8 for 5 wins and 8 losses
11 games against bottom 8 for 11 wins and 0 losses
Roosters 2022 - 32 points
12 games against top 8 for 6 wins and 6 losses
12 games against bottom 8 for 9 wins and 3 losses
Souths 2022 - 30 points
11 games against top 8 for 5 wins and 6 losses
13 games against bottom 8 for 9 wins and 4 losses
Canberra 2022 - 30 points
11 games against top 8 for 5 wins and 6 losses
13 games against bottom 8 for 9 wins and 4 losses

As you say luck of the draw is very important and you could always see the Sharks’ position was massively inflated. It’s why I was even more gutted to go out week 1 because I knew we were beating Cronulla 40-0.
I remember getting into an argument with a Sharks or Cows fan that they did play some of last year’s top 8 twice — and they cited those teams as the Knights and Titans (technically true but man this year they were both reserve grade teams).
Cowboys’ record is slightly more impressive. Their freshness and a big home crowd might be enough for them, because Parra might Parra the whole thing up.
But geez the Cows in the GF will get absolutely demolished by either side they can face. As a neutral I really want Parra to get in.

Penrith really should win and I think they will. They’re a much better side. I do hold a small fear Souffffffs might turn it into a bash-a-thon, or Panthers might be underdone and get Trelled or reffed out of it.

They played a undisciplined & injury hit Roosters & a Sharks team that couldn't tackle. Penrith are neither of those things.
Also Parramatta after 34yrs would be pretty hungry to win the comp.
In fact they would be starving.

I think the premiership winner will come from the Penrith-Souths game.
Panthers.........I don't want them going back to back, that title belongs to us.
Souths............Just because its Souths, I don't want them to win (gut feeling says they will win it)
Parramatta.....Don't really like them, every tackle they wave there arms about having a whinge.
Cowboys.......Guess they are the team I can tolerate the most to win but also the least likely to win it.

cowboys look like the titans in the 2010 prelim and parra should lap them but it's up there and parra can be hot and cold but cowboys drawing with cronulla after 80 is a good sign of where they're at.
panthers should beat souths easily and it's hard not to see them not going b2b unfortunately
