We tend to have games in us like that especially against teams we are expected to beat.
But a good opportunity to finally put that 80 minutes performance in and don't look back.
IMO Manly was a special situation though...

    - NRL was in apology mode so the refs went easy on them (scrappiness is a product of having 7 less important players out and they weren't penalised for it as many handling errors were just ignored).

    - Manly bunkered down and had a point to prove. Also they were fighting to stay in the top-8 (i.e. they were above us and NEEDED to win).

    - Manly still had DCE, Foran, Paseka, Garrick, Trbo, Walker, Taupau...etc. They also blooded Fulton, which was significant for them (and added an element of surprise). The guys they were missing were soft bastards who are happy to get tattoos (aka 'practice witchcraft' according to the good book) but can't love thy neighbour. Some weird shyte gets preached at those community-based Pentecostal gatherings and (for example) real Christians like DCE, Foran and Trbo were all playing. It wasn't a religious thing... it was a thin veil for the fact that gays are widely discriminated against in most pacific islander communities. A bunch of sookie children (who woulda made no difference anyway) boycotted because they didn't wanna put their club/sponsors first.

not that I think he’ll play but good god how dumb would their management be for even allowing the possibility
Except it’s not a loan agreement. He left the Tigers and signed with us for the remainder of the season. No opportunity to put a clause in a deal that doesn’t exist.

Don’t forget that the The Tigers lost to the Cowboys in Round 19 by one point. That was the game they were robbed. The Chooks need to bring their A game. Give the Tigers a chance and we could lose this game.

Tigers could have put a clause in the loan agreement if they wanted to.

If it was a loan - but think what Waylander is saying is that it's not a loan - ie he isn't going back to the Tigers. It's confusing as most articles you read describe it as a loan but you can find a few that say he is not going back to the Tigers .

It is a short term loan as Gildart is still contracted to the Tigers for 2023 but a move to the Dolphins in 2023 has been mooted - Tigers have been trying to offload him for a while.

“This works for Oliver, and it works for us as well so strategically it makes sense,” said Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe.

“Oliver will return to us after this short loan and begin preparing for 2023.”

                Easts by plenty.
Not sure how long Bradley Stubbs has been involved this season but definitely since our second game against the dragons and except for the Manly game, we've seen a marked improvement in starting and overall attitude since then.
This will be a good test of how well we're doing in those areas.
We put 50 on the dragons so can't see any less than that on these guys.

So we get ref Ben Cummins for our last game on the SCG and it’s the first time this year for us.

Tigers have looked terrible since Hastings went down, they've packed up stumps for the season.
Let's send off the SCG with a spanking.

My understanding was that he had signed with the Dolphins for 2023, and was not going back to the Tigers. I thought it was a straight out transfer for the remainder of the season. I may have got that wrong.

The official website says loan deal also and that he's going back to Wests for 2023:

Our turnaround in form confides with playing weaker teams rather than Bradley’s return.

Its the turn around in attitude that has been the biggest improvement. And I'd hardly call this years Broncos and Cowboys weak.

I don’t care where they sit on the table. It’s a very weak competition this season. Read my match day threads where I stated before both these games that these teams were weak.

We played a great game against Penrith and Melbourne. Nothing wrong with our attitude on these night. Our attitude was never the problem. Our execution, our ball control and our defence were the problem.

It’s been great to see the improvement in the side over the last month but let’s get real. Our turn around in form can be credited to the much weaker opposition we have been playing. Our true test is Round 24 and 25.
