This game is the Roosters by how many. We've dropped a few games to weak teams this year, but without Hastings and Brooks they have two tries in them against us, absolute max.

Even if we are somewhat complacent, we'll still win this comfortably. To be honest, I'd prefer we get out to a strong lead and coast from there. We have a big run coming up if we're going to challenge for the comp, and playing flat-out against the Tigers just isn't important.

I'd love to see us beat them 50+, and it's certainly possible. I also wouldn't care if we won by 12, as long as we don't let in a bunch of soft tries.

I thought we were going to put Manly away but 50% completions in the second half made me a little nervous.
We tend to have games in us like that especially against teams we are expected to beat.
But a good opportunity to finally put that 80 minutes performance in and don't look back.

        Rather play a man down

is this like when we played newcastle round 1 and the bulldogs? we should win well, but if we dont turn up prepared to grind , we could lose , round 1 2018 anyone ?

Surely the tigers put in their loan agreement that Gildart couldn’t play against them? Surely they aren’t that stupid.

not that I think he’ll play but good god how dumb would their management be for even allowing the possibility

All my mind can say is the Roosters will win easily but there lies the problem.
The Chooks have to think they are playing a top 4 side & that their season is on the line.
The Chooks have to get the 2 points & win good to keep this momentum going.
I don’t want to think about the week after until this game is over & won.
              Go the Roosters.
              Have to agree.

Did they gain any advantage in loaning us Ollie and sending Nofoaluma to the Drizz?

Like... presumably it's either a long game (e.g. when we have surplus they'll get it) or they want the said players to be challenged by our systems?

Ollie scored 4 tries or something for the Bears. Be interesting to see him play... although all of our backline's in great form.

They get cap relief for next season, whatever those players would have cost them for the remainder of the time they are on loan can be used on their cap so maybe $100k extra

Exactly the kind of game we’re prone to lose. But I can’t see that happening.

If we blow this then this season has officially been a joke.

It’s quite common for example in the english premier league for clubs to loan players to their competitors but stipulate that the player does not take part in their corresponding game against each other. They don’t want it to come back and bite them if said player has a blinder and they lose points because of him.

Everyone knows the importance of this game, so there is no doubt that the Roosters have been instructed to start fast, gain the ascendancy and grab the game by the throat and control it on the scoreboard.

I see 2 possible problems with that.

                          i) Our bench players don't seem to have the same physical intensity of the starting side, so from the 30th - 60th minute, the opposition can come back into the game, just like the Cowboys did. Its up to the bench to come on, and maintain the rage, and control the game.

ii) Our referee is good ol' Bend Over Cummins.
You know , the guy who hates the Roosters so much that his decisions in the 2019 GF kept Canberra in the game ( Just a little Anti Rooster bias in there)
Since then , he has come out publicly to say how he and his family received death threats, abuse of his family/ kids/ , etc, etc because of that one mistaken call.
Do you think he has warmed to the Roosters since?
No on your life , so expect lots of game management - if the Tigers have a sniff.
He won't do anything if the Tigers are being walked over, but if they are in with a chance, he will kick in.
My prediction is the fiasco will start (if at all) 10 minutes before half time , then continue to the 80th minute.

I was just thinking the other day that Ben Cummins (since the '19 GF) has not been appointed to ref our games at all really.

We hardly ever show up to a game against weak opposition with the mentality we do when we play against another top 8 team this game should be a training run but our recent history shows these are the teams that pull our pants down, I hope we’re ruthless against this mob and really put on a clinic.

                              Easts by plenty.

Not sure where to post this one but I guess it relates to Steggles donating every time we score a try against the opposition...passed the 4.8 million dollar mark now for childrens' charities...take that you bitter and twisted people who say that Easts have no heart and soul.....at least ALL these funds get donated and not partially like those who shall not be named...

Wait until they hit the five million dollar mark! What a blessing this turned out to be, all because Mini got chatting at the races to the CEO of Steggles all those years ago..he was so impressed, he rang the club..look at the domino effect working for the good of others...
