  • It's time to take the youth movement even further forward

lets face it, the current squad has no hope of taking out this years title, in fact we will be lucky to escape the bottom four on the back of the performance of the first 4 weeks.

7 tries in 4 weeks sums things up pretty well, not going to win many matches if that strike rate continues.

    - a win against the bunnies on the back of 3 minutes of expansive footy
    - a dreadfull loss to the Panthers in one of the most listless attacking performance in recent memories
    - a lucky win against a Canberra side down to 1 on the bench for the last 50 minutes
    - finally a clear demonstration of the gulf between us and the cream of the comp, against the Storm.

like many here I agree the likes of Moga/RTS/Napa/Evans are not ready to be first grade regulars but its time to face facts, our current group could hardly be called a first grade football team.

I would much prefer to see younger players having a go, rather than the current crop of underperforming/overpayed players that don't give a crap about the club.

a decision needs to be made as soon as possible on Anasta/Mini/Perrett if they are not going to be here next year, they should pushed aside as soon as its obvious we won't be playing finals football to give some more of the youngsters more first grade experience.

uncle Nick must decide by mid season if Smith is going to coach in 2013 if not, it is time to go in a different direction and put the Skipper of this rudderless ship out to ocean. Would love to see the club give Trent Robinson the first grade gig, he was the driving force during the 2010 season, the players loved him and its no surprise our form went backwards after he left.

we should do whatever it takes to get Glen Fisiiahi mid season, he is way to good to rot in NSW cup, he is the type of player we should be chasing not that injury prone/trouble maker Brett Stuart.

Agree Fletch. The Broncs have gone with youth for a couple of years, and their young bloke look right at home is first grade. Even better is the fact Griffin coached them all in 20's.

All on here agree that we are building for the future. We were never going to be a force this year. Those people happy with the last few rounds last year, and the wins this year, probably still belive in the tooth fairy.

Smith is a so called man for tough calls. Start making them. Morts needs a run at 5/8. Friend needs to go back to Newtown, and learn that 50 ineffective tackles a game, doesnt cut the mustard.

The signs in the first half were good. We were rolling forward, and the young blokes will get better. Time to piss of some pensioners.

I agree totally fletcher... as long as the fans don't bash them after every game. Develop Moga, Evans etc and add the new recruits next year.

I don't think anyone believe's that the club will push Mini/Anasta/Perrett aside, but at some point later in the season a decision has to be made for the good of the clubs future.

LOL! Are you crazy? I cant believe there are people gullable enough to believe Easts are a shot at teh 2012 title!! MAte what have I been telling you? We are 3 or so years off challenging. Today you saw why? Young, raw, dumb coaching, we where never a chance.

Im still blown over by the fact you thought we were a chance in 2012. Unbelievable!

Perrett offers nothing but 1 out hit ups. Shocking in the air, and unable to stand a man up.

But hey, he is a lovely bloke.

Man players like RTS are nowhere near first grade. Yes he has a nice left foot step but the kid is clueless about the game playing him would do more harm than good.

Melon, never thought we were a hope of taking out the premiership out this season, just didn't think we would be as bad as we have been in the first month, in all honesty we are the second worst team in the comp, only the Eels are worse than us at the moment.

Its just the way you opened this thread. Do yourself a favour....dont care any more...like me. I sat thorugh the hole thing today and didnt give a shit. it was comical, I actually felt bad teh first half when clearly teh refs were helping teh cheats. But in teh second I couldnt stop laughing. It was comical.

Just dont worry about them. It aint worth it.

You have to start bringing in players like Kheirallah and Tagive.

They have been identified as talents. Worked through 20s, into reserve grade.

Yes, there will be times where they may lose you the game. However, there won't be times where we look as inept in attack as we have lately.

At worst, they will bring some much needed speed to the squad.

... and for god's sake, let the forwards take the hit-up instead of the usual routine of Perret and Mini getting dominated in tackles.

It won't matter who is brought in whilst Smith has them playing this shit brand of adlib football. (or whatever he calls it)
