I think it can be beneficial like in European football, for young players who can get game time at the elite level to help their development. Let's just say for example rather than give Terrell 5 mins a game, if we sent him to the Knights or Tits or someone out of finals contention to get experience so he could return a well rounded and better footy player for US then it's win win.
Seems that clubs just do it when they are low on troops. I don't see how this benefits the tigers but if they are stupid enough to allow it then it's play on
I think the argument is that it gives them finals experience & contact hours with a winning team/coach (keeping them motivated/loyal...etc) during a time when nothing much is going on at their club.
