A pretty solid team of the year too! As in, most are top-shelf NRL players today and only a small few didn't make it in the NRL.

Sounds like when I was at school and we used to play against Matraville - half the team was the Ella family. On a good day we got within 50 of them.

Yep obscure and I'm in bed sick right now, but I always wonder about guys like this who have a good story but sorta slipped away into their private lives without any real announcement.

Tansey... respectfully, he got a crack at the NRL and then went back to England. I dare say that a NSW Cup FB of the year probably coulda gone to England on $$$ if he wanted to and put-played guys like Joe Burgess and Ryan Hall. Guess that's part of the puzzle about why Slime Ankle just retired from the scene.

Guessing he found a higher paying job or something so decided to focus on other stuff?

FWIW I showed some interest in another obscure, fringe player a while back (another who just disappeared off the scene without an announcement). Somebody with some serious inside knowledge sent me a private message about what happened that closed the loop in my mind about why they suddenly left the scene. Dunno why but I'm always curious about that kinda thing.

I know where Rob McClusky is -working as a Tennis Coach - mmm interesting signing back in the day -from professional tennis player to NSWRL player with the Roosters - 1 game as a replacement.
