  • Justin Carney: Why is this short fat man in our side?

What is this short fat man doing in our side? On the wing of places. Are there really no better wingers in the lower grades? Why does he pump himself up like a weight lifter instead of working on his pace if he wants to be a winger? I don't get any of it.

IMO wasn't our worst again. In fact BJ was worse.

          Plays centre in defense.

Threw that bazza of a pass.

Made some good runs when he wound up, steamrolled Berrigan and a few others on one occasion.

Made a few very good tackles, at least 2 were try savers IMO.

I wouldn't expect him to play every week.

          You know it makes sense.

That pass was truely embarrasing and something you would only expect to see watching park football, not from a so called first grader !
Four or five of our players threw some awful passes today ....Carneys's was by far the worst of a bad bunch !

The most mistake prone winger,3/4 that i have seen in a long time.Tagive is a far better option for the team makes you wonder whats going on in smiths head to keep picking carney week after week regardless of his form.

Short answer - he makes about 120m a game.

Stsae, I agree with a lot of what you've said about today's game, including some who are too keen to be negative.

But BJ had a red hot go today. Pulled the finger out, was always hard to get down, for a bloke out of position and carrying a stump next to him, he had a real crack.

Carney tried hard as usual - as always, he is not a first grade winger.

                      couldnt agree more

BJ's try assist, his defense, ball carries & final tackle on the bell has won him the spot with Moga next week.

BJ struggles & it's not hard to recognise it's the result of a serious lack of direction from his half baked coach

                      Carney needs arm transplants.

Mate you are a sheep, the guy made one mistake otherwise played well. Their were alot of mistakes today but the Roosters had no luck with the 50-50 calls & looked dangerous many times but could not execute the final play, but if they did they would have won by 20. Get off Carneys back & give him a far go, he will be in the side again next week because he deserves to be.

BJ had his best game today.

Carney didn't knock on that I can recall. Not many Roosters could say that today.

I also remember he made a very good tackle on Blake Ferguson when we were in a dangerous position.

I'd say throwing the ball over the sideline pretty much counts Gaz. He tackled well all day but again today he left BJ stranded to defuse a bomb by himself and again it resulted in a try. He needs to make an effort to block the runners cos it doesn't matter how good BJ is in the air, with an uninterrupted run up wingers like Ferguson will outjump him every time. BJ played much better than Carney today imo. Dropped one cold but as BlindFreddy said he ripped in and had a go, creating a lot of opportunities. I don't understand why he isn't supported better when he is able to get so many offloads away. Thank christ he didn't give up with the offloading otherwise we don't get our first try. Like it or not, or team needs second phase play to have any chance of scoring points. We will have many more low completion rates this season cos we'll need to push it. I'll take that over last week's uselessness any day. Good to see Kennedy has really worked on his second phase. He was our best forward today for mine. I thought FPN was good during his time on the field too, especially for all the crap he gets. His vision to go short side got us our second try.

Re Carney, he will play next week. Moga won't play til round 5. Straight from the horses mouth. Sorry for the downer.

We put BJ on the wings for the cross field kicks. Not rocket science that kickers now shorten their cross field kicks to Carney in centre.
