Given DSF came from our systems and woulda been on very little my thoughts are...
    - Egan
    - Baker
    - Whyte
    - Taphua
    - Thomas
    - May
    - [insert player or two from our lower grades that we can now offer an NRL contract]

There’s always a bit of movement around this time of year, 3 brand new coaches at Warriors, Dogs & Tigers always creates some dissatisfaction. Luciano Leilua has apparently secure a release effective immediately to go up to the Cowboys a year early.

David Mead comes off contract in 4months, isn’t getting minutes at the Broncos.

Esan Marsters also off contract in 4months and has had infrequent game time.

Sauaso Sue is on the outer at the Knights and I think a really underrated player, same with Ese’ese up at the Titans.

Jackson Topine, 2nd rower at the Dogs was schoolboys captain only a couple of years ago, again contract runs out in 4 months & still only 20yrs old.

I just think at this time of year there’s always the possibility for a good pick up.

Those names you tossed up there aren’t any good IMO. We have enough second rowers and mead stinks of a naiqama signing.

all these players with the exception of Topine who I think is a good young player.....are not playing NRL for a reason

Did you watch Marsters last game? makes Momirovski look like Gillmeister in defence and has worse hands than SKD

Do we grant him an early release and try to pick up a mid-season signing like a better winger for depth than Naiqama or find a genuine 9 to provide cover for Verrills?
I said in a different topic that if we pick someone up it should be euan aitken. Pop him at centre. Wasn’t too long ago he was competing with Latrell for a spot in origin

There's still that Atoni bloke, did he pick up a long term injury?

That’s the whole point though, you sign them because there are people out there who don’t think they are good enough. That’s where you get the value, not saying it has to be the players I suggested but I’m sure the club’s recruitment department would have information/data on a host of players currently in precarious contract positions.

Marsters has had a rough time at the Titans but I believe it’s more of a systemic issue than a personal one and in the right environment he could be a handy pick up. Still only 25 so not like he’s just decline overnight.

Yeh decent shout, I know he has signed with the Dolphins for 2023 though so would only be a short term fix. Warriors sure know how to make a player look a lot worse than they actually are.

Players like Papali’i and Mamaulo in recent times have proven to be very good value for money signings for the Tigers & Eels respectively.

Aitken is a serial diver. Should be playing soccer. I’d hate to see him in our colours. Comparing him to Latrell is like comparing a Victoria Secret model to Pauline Hansen.

He hasn't played well since that 1yr in 2018...been through 3 clubs since then

He might play good at somewhere like the Storm, they made even Brenko Lee look good

But we already have enough fringe centres who can't tackle

I did like what I've seen of him thus far in his limited games and I did actually like the aforementioned donkey punch on Arrow (whilst it was incredibly dumb, it showed some character and mongrel to defend Teddy as our captain, which is rare for robot players now).

I guess we need to just use the old adage of 'Trust in Trent' and hope that the V'aa bros, Baker, May, Whyte, Tuku are ahead of DSF for a reason. Wish it wasn't to scummy Souffs though coz I can't wish him well and hope he plays well.

Marsters is a very lazy footballer. His efforts in defence are pathetic at best. Unless it was minimum wage he isn't worth the risk.
