Not all doom and gloom - Nottingham Forest are back in the EPL and Atlanta Braves back to second in the National League East (MLB) -10 game winning streak

Is this surprising? Uncle Nick came out recently and along with Robbo said they were investing from within as far as our young forwards go.

          No to hass, munster etc.

Yet nek minute dsf is signing elsewhere.

I was keen for Daniel to step up but in all honesty he has been underwhelming. It's probably the limited first grade minutes and that you have to show some patience with the young bulls. E.g Collins.

Will be interesting (not) to see how he kicks on at souffs.

Once they signed May for 3 years the writing was on the wall for DSF. Had first shot last year but never came on. Overtaken by a few now.

Terrell May, Tuku Hau Tapuha, Naufahu Whyte, Alex Leapai Jnr and the Va's brothers perhaps made it difficult for the Chooks to retain DSF.

Limited minutes over the past few seasons and nothing in regards to performance where he came out and said "LQQK AT ME !!!' probably made the Roosters say 'you can find another club if you get a decent offer'.

He won’t because he knows no one will contribute to it.

I agree. One area we are desperately short is front row. We don’t consistently win the middle anymore and that is why we are struggling in general. TKO gone next season, Jazz is a warrior on the wane. Aside from Collins the club backed DSF, Hau Tapuha, Baker and May.
I don’t buy all this DSF isn’t first grade standard BS. Everyone said the same about Mick Crocker and then Lindsay Collins. Making your way as an NRL front rower is very bloody hard. They don’t usually start to play consistently until mid 20s, just look at Lindsay. I think DSF has size, can hit and is a bit of a grub.
To get him to this point and lose him to the vermin is a terrible outcome.

I can't remember anybody ever saying Mick Crocker wasn't up to the NRL. Collins always had it in him, it was just the basic errors that made you pull your hair out. I remember being at a game at Penrith with some mates in 2019. Lindsay's first run was 20m with about 10 of that post contact. My mate and I both said at the time, 'great run, now just don't dop it when you go to play the ball'. Of course he dropped it!

I think I have the exact same memory lol

He kept making these massive charges and just dropping the ball either during or at the play the ball, glad he fixed it he’s a weapon.

Will be interesting to see what Robinson does from here, I don't think he's in the top 6 props at the club.

Do we grant him an early release and try to pick up a mid-season signing like a better winger for depth than Naiqama or find a genuine 9 to provide cover for Verrills?

Who would you target? Jake Turpin?

A mate at work was bragging about it today, noting he's a Matraville junior who we 'stole'. My only comment was that we 'steal' the GOOD ones (e.g. Suaalii, Keary, Crichton, Butcher...etc) and Souffs can take the rest uncontested (while wondering how we manage our salary cap).

                              No great loss.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.
