Let's wait and see what the outcome is.
It's been a couple years since his last concussion.
I remember Cordner and Friend walking off each time they were concussed they looked like they didn't know who they were playing.
Keary looked like he felt pain on the back of his neck more than being gingerly. Not to say he wasn't concussed but they could have just played it safe not to bring him back on.
To talk about retirement or even a replacement is so premature.
And Burton can't tie Keary's shoelaces. Short memories when he played 5/8 when Cleary was injured.
Someone here would have started a "Burton is the worst player ever thread".

Put it this way. We wouldnt win a premier ship with hutch or Lam in at 5/8th IMO.
We have shown in years past that our higher ups get itchy after a few years of not winning and we make moves to get us back in to contention.
I don’t know if that means that we need to buy a forward or someone to cover Keary if worst comes to worst.

I honestly think we need to invest in another forward. With TKO leaving and JWH on the verge we will need someone to take lead. Baker, May etc are just not ready and Collins is just not that consistent.

In regards to Burton, I know he apparently he wants the cash but he would actually be the perfect guy to come in as cover for halves and to play left centre until Keary retires.

a full time Walker and Manu halves pairing is just something I couldnt see us moving forward with. Neither have a long kicking game.

Watson should not be in our team, never liked the signing, just could not work out how he would fit in.
We desperately need a hooker with crisp delivery.
Yeh that’s a ridiculous take, Keary was tearing up in that first 30minutes and lead us to multiple premierships. Hutchison is nothing more than cover at this level.

I’m taking it back, Keary needs time, I did my ACL twice, it takes time.
Just thought Hutch looked good last night and reminded me of last year when he stood up when needed.
Hope the concussion doesn’t turn into a major issue.

the latest update isn't conclusive but says he's not feeling too bad.

Yeh I’ve got a mate who’s months out of surgery and just the confidence around the little things like climbing ladders seems to be a real mental barrier. Just posted in the match day thread but I do worry some of his form is down to his mental state rather than it all being about his physical state.

I am more concerned about Luke's long term prognosis , than the Roosters winning matches , ATM.
He is a champion player and Roosters Legend.
I hope its a speedy recovery.

Perhaps the rumours with Munster were true all along?
                  Succession planning?

Keary now, i think, is in the same boat as Boyd and Jake.

Has Keary played his last game? I think it’s a possibility. He strikes me as an intelligent guy who doesn’t need to keep playing if he doesn’t feel it’s worth the risk.

Given that it apparently wasn’t a very serious knock on the head but he’s still felt the need to take a week off I think it’s possible he may be considering his future.

I'd like to think as we have a week off next week with rep round they are just being overly cautious

You’re probably right. But then again remembering what happened with Cordner & Friend, there has to be some doubt.

If Lam is the answer, your asking the wrong question.

I just don't see him as anything other than a fringe 1st grader. Yes, he has some nice touches, but he doesn't kill it for Norths.

He is 24, not a kid, so he should really be showing his ability by now, which, now that I think about, he probably is.

To lose three champion players to concussion injuries in the space of 2 years would be devastating.

I hope this is a joke. I’ll conclude this is a joke. In fact, if this isn’t a joke, I’ll remove myself from the forum. If we went there, we may as well bring back Kyle Flanagan because there was not much difference between the two.
