And that isn't me being snarky, I'm generally curious how you'd truthfully know if the players had truthfully turned their back on Robbo.

Well this is Robbo's 10th year in charge & maybe he's out of ideas & maybe his message is getting too old for some? Maybe these new rules have rendered Robbo ineffective. Fresh blood is needed in the forwards, Egan Butcher coming back will help & why DSF doesn't play is beyond me.

Remember watching a highlight of the Anzac game in 2018 ( the club posted it on the website for the buildup last week ) and in that highlight there were was a play that friendy did that we took for granted further alluding to above post. A kick downfield and first one there for the tackle was Jake and he got right under the ball forcing the error and we scored off the back of it. I just thought to myself at the time how we miss that gritty effortless ruck defence from nug and we haven’t recovered since.

Back to OP for a second.
Mate when it comes to professional sports, there are multiple facets to why a sportsman may not be playing at their peak performance
Confidence is one
Form is another
Attitude is also another and there's also simply not good enough for the highest level.
Unless we truthfully hear something leaked out of the club that there's attitude problems, then it's merely speculation from us fans. Now you can see if a player, or players, is struggling with confidence and form. Is that a coaching thing? Sure, it's up to a coach and his staff to bring out the best in a players morale and form itself. But you can out coach it. It just takes time. When you look at us a whole? It's a mixture of many different things. Confidence issues? Yes. Form? Yes, we are lacking form. Players not up to first grade standards? Definitely. Now tell me, how do you recognize if there's an attitude issue on the field when you're not there? Do you see a player "look" like he gives zero fark-s? Does he look like he's going through the motions? There could be many reasons as to why this is the case and it doesn't necessarily mean the coach has lost that player.
The bottom line is this is purely speculation. You don't truthfully know if Robbo has lost his players until a leak comes out, and it usually will come out as well. Players leak out to the media more than you'll ever know. Or maybe you do know, but that's besides the point. Your opinion here is purely based on speculation on what you see. Please don't discount form and confidence. Remember back in 2002? We started the season off rubbish and ended up going on a win streak to take the premiership. And whilst that won't most likely won't happen with this team, it does happen in sport. Why? Because it's a long season and confidence and form go up and down quite alot.Last edited by Owen Wilson; 04-30-2022, 11:02 PM.
