This is the worst round one performance I can remember. The lack of motivation to do the basics is the most disappointing thing.

A bunch of overpaid players playing solely on reputation. No intention to earn the win. Common sense just hang onto the ball. Not this year sorry. The trials showed this up. We have no go forward, stuck in our own half.

We didn't trial most of these guys, we definitely look a solid 2 weeks behind physically.

JWH is a prime example of a guy that needs a solid hitout before a competitive match, he's physically not ready for this match at all - he looks weeks away tbh.

Trent maps all this out well in advance and is no doubt cautious about the training regime after all the injuries last season, just gotta have faith in the coaches that this will pay off in the long run.

Not to start COVID debates but our whole squad's had it and 1/2 these guys haven't played footy for ~12 months. Crichton's got that compression thingie on and yes - looks like he's lost weight (from surgery or something?) There's definitely been disruptions.

Be patient!!! Our prep hasn't been ideal but I reckon we look like the better team out there. Just, every time we get close we either cock-up or have a penalty called against us. The discipline's not there and will need time.

1st game I suppose but the signs are there that certain aspects of their game has not been improved or worked on during pre-season - i bang on again - set completions -65% - this low % rate has a knock on affect on other aspects of their game - discipline/defence

Apart from SST the forward pack was complete trash also you could see a few players have had extremely limited preseasons while recovering from surgeries.

2 points down the drain. Played attacking footy for the last 5 mins only. Hope we can laugh about this performance on GF night.... if they can find away to make it.

Attack was poor. Even in games where we’ve played shot we’ve at least been somewhat adventurous in attack. It took 77 minutes for something interesting by us to happen. Round one though, not too worried. Glad the footy is back. Bring on Manly
