they'll improve big time
Thats why he will be punted sure they have brought players but they will only move up about 3 or 4 spots, mark my words. Barrett is a hoax, he got Manly to about 15th & he was then punted, Des returns with the same players & they are a top 6 side.
Flanagan will take over there.
If he can’t Make the second week of the finals with that side, there really could be no argument.
They're not going to go anywhere near the 2nd week of the semi's.
They have no quality at hooker or halfback & if anything happens to Burton they're farked.
They are at least 2 years away from semi's & semi's wont come till Baz is gone.

He's a gun, certainly as an attacking player. A standout for the Dragons, stop him and there wasn't much left there to threaten. Not sure how he will go with the Dogs though, might kick on under Baz.
To be considered a gun, you have to have a bit more about you then what he's shown. He's the most petrified footballer I've seen since Jamie Soward gave it away. The Dragons cut him loose and nobody wanted him so he can't be that good. Even the wooden spooners only gave him a 1 year deal.

Another journo hopping on the roosters hype for 2022.
Michael Carayannis predicts us win finish 1st overall and winning the comp.
Rates the return of keary huge for us. Thinks the combination of keary, Walker and Tedesco will emerge to become the best in the game.
However they managed to finish the year in fifth despite also losing the likes of Lindsay Collins, Joseph Manu, Billy Smith, Brett Morris, Josh Morris and Joseph Suaalii throughout the year to serious injury, while also having Jake Friend and Boyd Cordner forced into retirement.
One silver lining to the injury carnage of 2021 was the emergence of star young half Sam Walker, who set the NRL alight with his now signature harbour bridge cut out passes.
With the return of Luke Keary, alongside the emergence of Walker and the star power of James Tedesco, the Roosters may just be able to go all the way this year,
WHAT THEY NEED TO TWEAK
A huge changing of the guard at the club. They had to grind their way to win matches last season but now they can add some polish to that. They will welcome back Luke Keary who will be pivotal to the club’s success. He will take pressure off youngster Sam Walker. Victor Radley in the middle of the field will continue to ball play while James Tedesco was forced to extend his attacking skillset in 2021.
WHICH PLAYER CAN THEY REINVENT?Billy Smith
Long earmarked as a first grade star, Smith has been hit by a raft of injuries which has plagued the outside back. He is almost the forgotten man in the NRL. Despite the mounting injury toll, the Roosters have kept the faith with Smith, who still has two seasons left on his deal. The 22-year-old has played just five top grade games since making his debut in 2019. Has ruptured his ACL twice and dislocated his shoulder during pre-season. Made his return late in the season but suffered a foot injury.
WHO TAKES THE NEXT STEP?Naufahu Whyte
Whyte was among a host of players who featured in the NRL probably before their time because of the Roosters injury toll. The 19-year-old played three games but is expected to have a lot more game time this year after they extended his deal. At 192cm he stands as tall as enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves. A really bright future even if his appearances are limited early in the year.
WHERE WILL THEY FINISH IN 2022 —Premiers
Based on a healthy roster and the foundation they laid – highlighted by their resolve in – makes the Roosters an imposing proposition for rival clubs. They have lost a lot of experience but you take a look at the side and there is still genuine star power. The combination of Tedesco, Walker and Keary could emerge as the best in the competition. 1st.

Thats what it all hinges on. Keary, Teddy, JWH & Rads have to play at least 22 rds during the year & all be fit in the semi's to win the comp.
I said last year after Keary was ruled out for the season that the season was over for the Chooks, no Keary no comp & I still believe that for 2022.
Penrith with Cleary are in the same boat.
Depends on the NRL / Refs interpretation of the rules against us............... Fatigue sets in after defending for multiple sets.
Never a truer word was spoken Kelby, there is definitely “engineering” going on there, with the NRL deciding by ref proxy, which way matches turn.
The six again rule means that the outcome of tight games is nothing more than a lottery. The NRL and referees have more to do with the outcome of games than the players themselves.
Couple this with the crackdown on hard contact by the NRL, and you could have shithouse teams like South Sydney, who love playing touch football, at the top of the ladder , or near the top of the ladder at seasons end.
Assuming we can avoid injuries, I still think there are quite a few questions about our side.
How will Keary and Collins recover from their ACL's? How will SST go after he dropped off last year? JWH another year older, has he still got it? Sam Walker - how will he develop? Verrills - was he affected by that eye as badly as it seems or is off the boil completely?
If all of the answers are positive and things go our way, then we could possibly win it but I genuinely feel that Penriff and the Storm are still comfortably ahead of us.
I feel like 2023 will be a more genuine shot for us and I say that because despite all the younger guys getting a shot last year and fast tracking their development, I think they'll still need another year to become consistent week to week players...and we get Smith who will be massive for us.
Regardless, I'll be there week in week out cheering them on and I can't wait for it to all start.
