We had a mix of young guys who aren't used to playing at that high level intensity for so many games and then we had our stars like Teddy, JWH and co who have had to increase their workload for an extended period of time with no prospect of much of a break. I think the signs were there last week that we were red lining and it came to the fore last night.
    I don’t disagree!

Yeh everyone said it, the goalkicker was going to be the difference come the big finals games.

To think we would be there next week one game away from the grand final if we just addressed this issue sooner.

Imagine a spanner gets thrown into the works and we sign Sims. Crichton and Sims running holes in the row, Sitili back to the bench. I don’t hate the idea TBH (if the price is right and he wants to win a comp)
            Red, White and Bluesters!!!

If there are injuries in the halves I would like Watson to step in and then maybe Hutch as #14.
Yep, poor old hutch isn’t blessed with speed, and probably isn’t great at any one thing, but you just feel for the guy that he probably doesn’t make a fully fit squad, and on his efforts of this year alone, it’s like he is owed something for next year.

name a stand after him at the new stadium

So you dont think goal kicking could win you a game or two through the season ? Be the difference between top 4 or lower ? Convert a sideline conversion from touch in the finals to win ?

Hutch is all heart....but i think some fringe players were flattered this year playing in a terribly weak comp

Imagine if walker had to kick last week v titans, we wouldn’t of even made week 2.

I think picking your best 17 will win you more games than ensuring one of your starting players is a great goalkicker. Lets be real, Adam Keighran was a huge reason we fell behind so early last night... does it really matter than he can slot one from the sideline? No, I want to see Joey Manu, Billy Smith or Joseph Suaali playing. I've already had this argument multiple times so I'm not going to do it to death again on here but statistically it just doesn't add up.

I’m looking forward to seeing Keary and Collins again as well as the young guys after another pre-season. Outside of the hooking position, we’re looking good.

A reasonable team for NRL 2000 but far too light for the modern era. We are getting pummeled by the teams with big heavy aggressive forwards and with the influx of islander sized players in the game today , we will continue to get smashed until our own guys mature into 'heavies'. If Sims comes I hope he can offer some size and aggression to the pack. My wish for 22 is that most of the team can add kegs and muscle to their frames during the off-season . I firmly believe that weight and muscle give an extra level of confidence to the player and one only has to look at some of the other teams to see players who have done just that .. a prime example to me is Remis from the Storm. I want to see biceps, triceps and quads ... on our team for a change! OK I'll go kick the pooch now!

Be nice to have some speed too, our backs are all tall timber’s, but don’t think there is much pace to burn there.

No offence to Billy and really feel for the kid after all of those injuries. Whatever he did in the lower grades means little if he keeps getting injured so until he can complete at least a season, it’s not like we can rely on him so until that happens we have to ensure that we have a reliable player and if they can kick, then it’s a better option.

As for Adam K, sometimes you have to give a new player time to be comfortable in the role in a new club. He’s no Cooper Cronk or James Tedesco who is able to assert themselves after a handful of games but there were some signs in previous games that he had it in him to improve once he is comfortable with the players around him and the fact he can turn 4 points into 6 is important. He’s no Adam Reynolds but right now he’s the best we have.

The problems on Friday were mostly from players that were senior to him BUT considering the year we have had, I’m not going to rubbish them…it is, what it was!
